There's NO WAY this car will be under 6 sec 0-60. NO FARKING WAY.

6.2-6.5 best (extreme guys like Motor Trend will probably do it), but most of you will probably get it in 6.8-7.2 range.

I bet most of S2000 sub 6 sec runs were from clutch dump at 9000rpm.

Nope. Launch is faster. 5MPH rolling start = very very little torque compared to a 4500RPM clutch drop.

Whoa dawg calm down...
There are some stock S2000 0 to 60 runs in the mid 5 sec range.
Car and Driver got a 5.4 secs 0 to 60
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t-specs-page-2

Maybe these are ringer cars...but

We will have to see what kind of gearing the FR-S has. What kind of traction it has and what kind of power it is putting down to the ground.

Here is another one..and you know how crappy the gearing is in the Genesis coupe...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyundai_Genesis_Coupe

2010 Genesis coupe 2.0 Turbo track, 6 speed manual
Weight is 3294 pounds
HP is 223HP Torque is 217 ft/lbs

Power to weight ratio is 14.77 to 1
0–60 mph performance records of 2.0 I4
  • Motor Trend review 0-60 : 6.8 sec [24]
  • Edmunds review 0–60 : 6.9 sec [17]
  • Car and Driver review 0–60 : 6.8 sec [25]
  • Car and Driver road test 0-60 : 7.0 sec [8]

2013 FRS 6 speed manual high spec is 200 hp and 151 ft/lbs torque. Weight is 2711 pounds. Power to weight ratio is 13.55 to 1

Unless they screw up the gearing...the FRS could be a mid to upper 5 secs 0-60 mph car.
There's no way the TC could get 6.5 sec 0-60 with that power and weight. That's around the GTI/Civic Si figures, but with less power and more weight.

FR-S will be a 6-second flat 0-60 at best.

That is still faster than the 2012 tC...The tC was clocked at 6.5....sure it was probably a ringer car....but 6.0 secs to 60 in a FRS is good enough for me.

im pretty sceptical about 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds... If you look for instance at the renault clio it has same power 200hp and 158 ft lb / 215 nm and less weight 2600lbs / 1180 kg it does it in 6.9 according to renault. However you will have to change gear spot on so most do it in 7.2 seconds.

I know it's not only a matter of power and weight but the gearing is pretty good in the renault.

Only thing that's really different is front wheel drive and rear wheel drive,

so does having rear wheel drive benefit that much when it comes to acceleration?

The ITR did it in ~6 with similar power and weight as the FT. With a good driver and sticky street tires I know a few that ran 13.9-14.0s with stock ITRs which is a mid to high 5.x 0-60. Sounds like the Renault's gearing sucks, or just the power under the curve is atrocious.

That is possible... and 151 torque seems about right but i suspect it might have been a typo when they said peak torque is at 6600rpm. it must have been more like 5600rpm

guys i am a noob on the forum and did some searching, but I dont seem to see any mention of a sunroof for any of the 3 versions of the cars or their trim levels.

has anyone heard anything about one being available? or is it too much weight/not stiff enough for a car of this nature?

no sunroof the roof was designed to channel air to the trunk. a sunroof would ruin that design

rats... I've never had car without a sunroof or being convertible... I hate that closed off feeling.

Oh well gotta make concessions I guess and there's always the aftermarket.

I dunno, I use mine all the time, esp here in South Florida its a really nice feature to have on a nice day.

Being from Cali I'm sure you can relate to an extent.

Its of course not a deal breaker. But a small aftermarket one is definitely in the cards for any future BRZ/FR-S that I may purchase.

Probably gonna hit that antenna... but will have to put a shorty on or something.

Ford doesn't offer a sunroof on the Mustang and I went about 8 months before I gave in and just had one installed. Couldn't deal without having one anymore lol. Aftermarket of course isn't as perfect as factory as its not as big as the ones I've had in the past... but its electric, no leaks at all, looks factory for the most part over all does the job very well for me.

I know I'm in the minority as most of you guys will be buying this car for nothing but sheer performance. For me I love how it looks, like having good power in my daily and want something comfortable too with a few creature comforts. For that reason the Subie version looks like it would be more suited to me.

So I can definitely picture in my head what my goals are for this thing if I picked one up for DD duty.
