Any input as to why one would lean towards one as opposed to the other. Cusco is slightly less expensive but is supposed to generate more vibrations. The poly seems more robust than the STI mounts, though.

STI is obviously subaru approved and should be slightly better to live with day to day. The vibration issue isn't a huge deal, honestly.... just looking for other's input.

I have the sti engine and trans mounts and they are stiffer than what I usually think of when it comes to rubber bushings. Great upgrade, and I wouldn't want anymore stiffness than what they provide. That they use OE-quality manufacturing is icing on the cake.

What's wrong with the mounts that are in your car ....... did the massive torque load pull one of them apart .... ??

You'll notice the change with the STi mounts when you want to... Not idling at a light when the SO says "your car is running really rough".

My midpipe was hitting the rear subframe under acceleration stock, not with STi.

I got the Cusco one cause it was cheaper. I don't really notice it at all anymore.

Cusco mounts were recently put on after 95k miles on the OEM mounts. My engine moved so much on the OEM mounts causing my turbo kit's downpipe to knock against the frame. Absolutely no touching or movement at all with the Cusco mounts. There's a considerable increase in vibrations when taking off (but doesn't bother me at all), a minor increase at idle, and i can't tell a difference at all while cruising.

I am slowly leaning towards the cusco mounts. I also have their transmission collar....so... why not, lol.

The STi mounts are nicer for a car that is daily driven, and worth retaining a bit of comfort in my opinion.

I've found through the years that if you touch more components less you can often get a 'package' that is greater than the sum of it's parts.

A lot of people do solid motor mounts with stock trans mounts, and end up with tons of vibration and say there's no way they'd want to add more by doing the trans mounts. If they do STi motor mounts, and a whiteline trans mount insert, or a similar setup it's often more livable, and 99% as performance oriented.

Just my opinion, there's no wrong way to do it, just different ways.

I use the STI mounts, perhaps my stockers were going to hell, because I actually find that the car is quieter with them. They are fine and work well, it's not a night and day difference but you feel a noticeable difference in throttle response and an overall 'tighter' feeling all around. I'm happy with them.

The difference between the two is that the STI was designed with a street car in mind, so there's a lot less NVH (especially at odd RPMs).

If you want to minimize random rattles from inside your car as you drive, go with STI. If you don't care, go with Cusco.

Just installed Cusco mounts a couple weeks ago prior to installing the turbo. The only negative aspect, in my opinion, is a bit of vibration while taking off from a stop but I fully expected that to happen. The biggest improvement was that it really took up a lot of slack in the driveline and made a big difference in on/off throttle response. Well worth the upgrade, imo.
