It means my fuel economy with the off the shelf tune on AT was
10L/100km displayed; 13.3L/100km (17.7MPG) actual. With the manual transmission throttle map I got my fuel economy down to 9.4L/100km displayed; 12.5L/100km (18.8MPG) actual. Saving: 0.8L/100km Then by modifying the tune I got from that point down to 8.5L/100km displayed; 11.3L/100km (20.8MPG) actual. Saving: 1.2L/100km If you look at this log, any time the load is between 0.6 and 0.8, it's using less fuel than before. http://datazap.me/u/wayne/206-stg2-u...=0&data=1-4-11 |

Wayno, do you or Steve have a copy of this for a manual at all? I am currently running the OF header and E85 but don't have the confidence to mess about changing tables etc with the OFT as I am sure I would bugger something up so am just running their off the shelf map.

I've many revisions so I'm not keeping a G rom up to date unnecessarily.
There were some areas knocking because the timing needed smoothing out a bit on my setup. Also running 33 deg up top so it doesn't knock instead of Shiv's 33.5. http://datazap.me/u/wayne/206-stg2-u...om=10750-10809

Updated zip file in first post. Graphics not updated. Now down to 10.5L/100km (< 8L/100km displayed).

@Wayno: very minor, but imho for this thread to be better searchable, maybe worth to update typo in thread name ecomony>economy.

Would love to see an A01G version of this update,
I noticed when doing a comparison between A01G v23 and this A01I v33, it showed 41 changed tables and 33 missing. Some tables weren't exactly the same either like Base timing idle (in gear) so would copying down fueling, timing and IAT compensation be sufficient? |

Didn't i list the tables changed in the first post?
AT/MT are never going to have all the exact same tables of the same size and definitions to match. All the ones changed are transferable though.

Yes you did, even included in the readme...
Thanks for those tunes Wayno, I'm running your petrolmap (with a few modifications to better suit my car) and some of my fellow Belgian GT drivers are running on your E85 maps. They work like a charm.

The latest 98 map has timing added back in instead of blanket pull from the entire thing. I went back through all my Stg1 98 logs and redid it from scratch with the new methods I discovered. Latest should have a slight increase of power and still keep IAM up. If you have good fuel, just copy the entire base timing table from the OTS tunes. The E85 map was rapidly evolving and updating every few days, but should be final now. If they have a version earlier than v33, they should definitely update. Best to load both in RR and compare to see the changes. Timing was too conservative in previous versions. v33 (no letter) is the file to flash. v33F is the same tune as v33, except that KCA has been flattened and Base Timing compensated. This is the one I adjust, then transfer the changes to the other rom. v33W has my personal MAF scale and is experimental - UEL headers, stock airbox, stock intake hose, stock intake snorkel, stock cat back. CL MAF portion copied from Stg2 petrol, OL MAF >= 3.7V * 0.975. 98 E85

Hi,
I used your E85 G-rom earlier, when you first released it, but it gave me some high fuel trims (close to -10% at OL). I think it might have been because of the MAF sensor scaling. With the OTS E85 map my STFT and LTFT stay close to 0, that means in the range from -3% to +3%. Only at highway speeds and at OL LTFT stays at a constant of -4.68%. I'm not that good at this yet, but try to pick up and learn a lot about diagnostics an tuning, so bear with me here. I want to try to apply your tune again but this time without the MAF scaling. Would it be okay just to copy over the following tables to my A00G rom? - Primary Open Loop Fueling - Primary Open Loop Fueling Additive - CL Fueling Target Compensation A (Load) - CL Fueling Target Compensation B (Load) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width A (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width B (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width C (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width D (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width E (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width F (ECT) - Base Timing B - Timing Compensation (IAT) - Timing Compensation A (ECT) - Timing Compensation B (ECT) - Radiator Fan Modes A (ECT) - Radiator Fan Modes B (ECT) Also I guess that the -4.68% at highway speed means it's running rich, right? Which tables would I need to correct for that? When LTFT reads around -5% and STFT reads about the same value just positive instead, does that mean it evens out the LTFT trim? I guess it will learn from that in the long run..? Sorry for the noob questions |

Yep, the v33 I uploaded has the off the shelf 2.0 MAF scale. You must have the "just right" setup for good trims like those.
Required tuning changes: - Primary Open Loop Fueling - Primary Open Loop Fueling Additive - CL Fueling Target Compensation A (Load) - CL Fueling Target Compensation B (Load) - Base Timing B Recommended utility changes: - Timing Compensation (IAT) - Timing Compensation A (ECT) - Timing Compensation B (ECT) - Radiator Fan Modes A (ECT) - Radiator Fan Modes B (ECT) - Total Injection Ratio Port Cold - Total Injection Ratio Port Hot - Total Injection Ratio Port Warm - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width A (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width B (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width C (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width D (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width E (ECT) - Cranking Fuel Injector Pulse Width F (ECT) (select and copy the values for this one instead of using copy table) Quote:

The thing I also mentioned about the trim staying at -4.68% at highway speed or OL, would you try to correct that, if it were you? And how would you go about that? A bit of topic: I'm thinking about increasing the idle rpm a bit to around 800 or 900 rpm, just because I don't like the sound of the engine and exhaust (don't really hear the stock exhaust) at that low rpm, especially when the a/c compressor kicks in and brings the engine out of balance. Would that give any implications with anything? |
