It wins auto x races in STX if you drive well.
It's quite boring to daily drive unless your daily drive involves a lot of corners.
Even with boost the car isn't extremely fast or torquey, but it does sound cool with the right exhaust setup.
Parts are generally pretty cheap for modifications.
I was never completely happy with mine, a lot of it fell down to the build quality and service I received for my very first warranty claim on my car (49km on the odometer).
You described this car exactly as I would. It is an OK car, thats gives you a good smile/$ spent... That's about it.

Contrary to the popular belief that this car outhandles everything... sadly, it does not. It's... okay haha. Or I'm just a shitty driver LOL...

Exactly, I am not saying its a bad car, but there is always room for improvement. If I could pick one thing I wish they would change it would either be the build quality or the engine.

My S2000 isn't torquey or fast and if anything less driveable in the city then the BRZ but its still more fun to drive daily due to the engine and exhaust setup. The S2000 is still a terrible daily driver but the fun factor is better then the BRZ was in my opinion. On the other end of the scale my BMW 135i I had before the BRZ was lots of fun to daily drive and was quite fast with a tune, but as soon as I hit some corners or had to put power down anywhere but a straight line it left a lot to desire and became more of a chore to drive. My ATS is an alright daily driver partially due to my situation, I spend lots of time in traffic on Crowchild in rush hour so the auto is nice, the AWD is still fun (not quite Subaru fun) in the snow and out on Ghost lake, and the turbo engine moves it along relatively fast. If my commute was say...out of town up the Norquay access road kinda deal everyday you better believe I would be driving the S2000 daily or something else like the BRZ/S2000/Miata/E46 M3/etc etc etc.

A lot of comes down to each person's situation and their main driving, if I lived on the highway and did even more mileage then I do now i'd be in a diesel VW most likely.
Yeah, I agree torque is good. You really need it on corner exits.
For a car that's $30k, I don't think you can complain too much about built quality. lol
Coming from owning BMWs, I see the contrast in features and amenities, for sure. But, I also know that this car is way more affordable!

The nit-picky things I wish the card had:

-- the dash gauge has ONE display, so you have buttons to cycle through outside temp, trip meter, odometer, fuel consumption, etc. ONE display!! Anyone coming from owning a Nissan sports car would freak at this.
-- the steering wheel badly needs radio controls. I need to skip songs all the time, and it's hard to hit the touchscreen display while driving.
-- I wish the BRZ had a TPS. I'm always paranoid of getting a flat tire after some spirited driving.
-- while the steering ratio is OK, turning the steering wheel lock-to-lock is quite short. This makes for annoying 3-point turns in residential streets cuz the turning radius is so wide.

Hey guys. Anyone looking for some good DD tires for the spring? I have some 225/45R/17 (fits OEM wheel) that I would like to sell so I can set up into R rated compound tires. I used them for half a season and if I had to guess 2 probably are 60% life and the other 2 are 90% I will have to measure in the spring. They are great for a DD a little better then OEM for grip but much better in the rain I found as well as much quieter and ride better then OEM. If you want auto-x tires or a lot more grip then OEM these are not for you.
