Gas Problem maybe? Helpppp

Hey guys I recently just filled up my car from a Texaco station. When I was driving home every time I went into a different gear there was a slight delay then it started to jerk. I pulled over and let the car sit and the rpm started to dip below the normal area. I turned it off and on and it struggled to turn back on. I tried stepping on the gas but it was super jerky and wouldn't even go past 4.5k rpm. It's sitting at my house now and has a full tank of gas. I turned it on and blasted the a/c and all I smelled was gas, I attempted to step on the gas but it didn't work it just kept dipping below 1k rpm. So would I have to completely like siphon the gas out? I would take it to a dealership but the closest one to me is about 75miles and I highly doubt the car could make it there. Any idea guys?

Update 1 - I got Roadside assistance to come tow my car to the nearest dealership. I believe distance won't play a factor. Now I just hope I everything is under warranty and that I don't have to pay anything

Update 2 - It's at the dealership now. I'll have to call Monday and find out since the service area is closed right now.

Final Update - I got it back from the dealership today. Apparently they think it was E85 gas in my car. I know for sure I pressed 92 grade when I filled up that day. They emptied my car twice and drove it a little bit each time. They called me and asked if they could keep it overnight to see how it would do the next morning on a cold start. When I picked the car up they just told me to drive this tank all the way to E then go to a gas station and fill up with premium and I should be good. The dude was gonna charge me like $500 since basically none of this stuff was under warranty. He only charged me $79.95!!! Overall I'm ecstatic that I have the car back but sadly not for much longer. I recommend everyone to go to Brandon Tomes Subaru in McKinney! They treated me so well with everything!

If you smell gas, there's a leak somewhere. Do NOT even start it. Have it towed to your dealer.

You have a 2015, do you still have roadside assistance available?

I'm pretty sure if you explain it they would possibly transport it over to the dealer 75 some odd miles away, just by reading the online info here:
http://www.subaru.com/owners/resourc...nce/index.html

NATIONAL TOLL FREE NUMBER 1-800-261-2155

Subaru Roadside Assistance is free and standard on every Subaru from model year 2000 forward. Coverage is automatic; there are no forms to complete. Subaru Roadside Assistance is available anytime during the 3-year/36,000-mile Subaru Limited Warranty, whichever comes first.[1]
  • Towing to the nearest authorized Subaru retailer if you cannot safely drive your vehicle.
  • Jump-start if your battery is dead
  • Gasoline delivery if you run out of gas
  • Flat tire change to install your spare
  • Emergency lockout service
  • National Subaru retailer locator service, with phone numbers and location of the nearest retailer anywhere in the U.S. or Canada
I'm not sure if distance is an issue for them....

Hopefully it's just a sensor problem and your ecu can't figure out the short term fuel trims and is dumping fuel, but not leaking elsewhere. I have run my own fuel and methanol injection lines before and lit my garage floor on fire, that was fun. Anyway, second the motion for tow to dealer.

@speedy07 ..... I support this recommendation.

Even if Texaco sold you some "bad" gas (old or half water) the engine compartment shouldn't be smelling of raw gas.

For those of us ( @Toyarzee ) who have experienced a gas fire in an engine, will attest to how scary it can be.

Like ….. smelling gas and popping the hood on my old 1948 Chevrolet, (with a homemade 3 single barrel carburetor manifold) and seeing gas spewing gas out of the top of the center carburetor ......

Last thing guys... This car is probably gonna get repoed since my parents lost their business. There is no possible way my broke college self could afford this car without my parents help. So should I go get it fixed or should I just let it sit outside until it becomes repossessed?

Well, it's hard to say. The far majority would tell you to get a job. The others would tell you to sell it, downsize and get a job.

Since your car is still under warranty, take it to the dealer.

Sorry to read that your parents lost their business .....

if your car gets repossessed, doesn't that badly hurt your credit? considering your parents are paying for your car, then won't you be screwing over your parents' credit by not selling the car or working with the bank and just letting it get repoed?

if you really like the car, get a job and start paying for it yourself. however, for now take it to the dealership since everything should still be covered under warranty.

Do you top off your gas when you fill it?

If you do this too much you might have "flooded" the charcoal canister.

Damn, hard times fall on everyone bro
How far behind are you and your parents on payments? You should honestly speak with them on this because that will wreck your credit for any future fun sports car purchases. Personal opinion if I were in that situation is get it fixed, if it gets repoed it gets repoed.

I believe this month makes it 2 months... I've spoken with them they owe like so much credit I believe they are gonna go the bankruptcy route... Anyways I'm gonna get it fixed tomorrow. Hopefully everything is still under warranty. I'm literally debating on finishing up this semester of school(Finals Week) then just getting a full time job to help support them.
