To answer the question:

Have:

2004 Chevrolet Suburban Z71 (family car, bad weather hauler)
2005 Ford Mustang Convertible (MomHawk's Daily Driver)
2013 Scion FRS (my daily driver)
2014 Ford Focus SE (son's daily driver)

Want:

C7 or C8 Corvette (probably C7 for now until C8 hits the used market)
Cadillac CTS-V (My Grandpa/retirement car)
An EV car or truck when they meet my criteria

Would love to have as "toys" in my barn (I've always had this thought of owning one car from every decade I've been alive):
1957 Chevy Belair (Car I learned to drive in)
1969 Camaro SS/RS
1977 Pontiac Trans/Am
1985 Toyota MR2
1991 GMC Syclone (link for those not familiar)
2001 Lotus Elise or 2004 Pontiac GTO (can't decide which)

Current:

'17 Tacoma TRD Offroad, wife's daily, family weekend rig
'17 BRZ, date night/wet weather car for me
'83 SR5 4x4, recycling truck/beater/will never lose value
'17 Honda CRF250L, weekend get out of town bike, occasional commuter
'83 Honda CB, fun ride around bike

2019 Salsa Journeyman 650b, everyday commuter. 9 miles each way

Want:

2020 (2021?) Corvette.

I'll probably sell the BRZ and CRF250L for the Vette. Since the Salsa showed up I hardly ride the motorcycles. I'll probably keep the CB forever, I only have like $400 in to it.

There was one for sale in the front of a used car lot I drive by on my way to work recently.

I had to start driving a different direction until it was sold. …..

Recently sold:

'06 Buell Blast - GF's bike

Trade the GS500F for a GSX-R600 (hopefully this fall or next spring)
GF wants a Honda Grom

3 or 4 250-400cc dirt bikes of some kind (doesn't really matter too much what brand)
Drag-prepped Hayabusa or ZX14

Currently:

2011 VW GTI - wife's car/family hauler
2013 Scion FR-S - weekend track car/occasional kid hauler
2008 Ford Taurus - work car

In the near future, we will have to replace the GTI with something bigger if we have another kid. Thinking about a Telluride, Atlas or CR-V.

Long term, maybe turn the FR-S into a dedicated track car and pick up another fun car like a Camaro 1LE SS or Exige.

All these answers are surprisingly realistic. it's weird. I've flip-flopped a lot and used to think a 5 car stable would be pretty awesome, but I've culled my enthusiasm quite a bit as I've realized I could never afford all the cars I want.

Have:
'17 86 (will probably keep, but not really sure)

Want (dream stable):
Baby-Singer 911 (simpler, but still nicely built) - absolute dream car
Mazda RX-3/4 Restomod
Nissan Sunny truck with the Hakosuka front-end
Something a bit more practical for commuting, maybe an economy car or something nice/new.

We take long car trips never. 150 miles in a day is a long, rare round trip for us. If we did take a multi-day trip, we'd drive one of the three ICE cars we have, probably the truck or the Subaru. More likely we'd fly, because driving long distances is physically and psychologically torturous.

EVs are not good second or third cars. They're good first cars. The best first cars. Head and shoulders above the shit that is ICE. No oil changes. No trips to the gas station. No brake jobs. All you gotta do is swap the tires every once in a while and plug in when you get home. The tank is always full. The efficiency is always high. The torque is always available. No downshifting. No pause. Just go. Zoom ahead of traffic. Make the pass. No problems.

ICE cars are for your second or third car. For the long trips. For towing. For hauling 8 people and all their gear for multiple days. For driving on the race track and wanting to work on manually shifting gears and all that unnecessary but sometimes fun complication.

A C8 doesn't do that for me. It's slower than a fast EV in day to day driving. It has no manual, so no complication to challenge myself or increase involvement.

As for racing, EVs have proven faster for hill climbs. Formula E has had different winners of most races, actually testing driver skill over engineering skill.

So a manual, small car for the twisties and track days - FRS. Miata. 911. Elise. C7 or earlier vette. Etc.
An EV for city driving. Fiat 500e. Also fun in the twisties.
A truck to haul shit. RAM 1500 for now. Some day maybe a Bolinger, Rivian, Tesla, or Workhorse, though the workhorse is a hybrid. Also good for long trips and commuting with multiple people.
An EV crossover or sedan for regular commuting and driving. Jaguar I-Pace. Model Y. Audi Etron. Etc. Compared to cars, crossovers are easier to get in and out of, take curbs and speed bumps better, and in the I-Pace's case, can even handle significant offroading.
I should add a minivan or passenger van to the list, though. Sometimes you have to move 7 or 8 people. I just couldn't quite make myself get one, though. I need to move more than 5 people VERY rarely, like once or twice a year. I'd rather pack people into the truck.

I don't really get the Singer appeal. I REALLY don't get the money people pay for Singers.

EV regen braking does reduce pad/rotor wear, for sure. So of course intervals for pad changes are way longer. But, all the major EVs have stuff in their manual about brake wear and when the pads should be replaced. They will eventually need replacement, even if that "eventually" is 9 times longer than an ICE car. Plus, pads aren't the only parts of braking systems that need maintenance. Fluid is supposed to be checked and replaced if necessary every 2 years. Rotors and brake lines will corrode over time and must be checked and replaced. Saying EVs require "No brake jobs" is really dumb, IMO. Fewer brake jobs, sure. But no brake jobs? Guess you just throw the whole car away once the wear indicators start making noise, huh?

They're gorgeous cars done to an extreme degree of detail and performance. I get it, but I still don't want to pay half a mil for one. That's why I said baby-Singer. I don't need diamond stitch leather, or even that fancy of an interior. A nice, clean, simple interior would suit me fine. But I would want underpinnings/performance to be close to Singer levels (especially that Williams engine they used for one of their builds). A carbon fiber body would be cool as hell, but to avoid Singer prices regular ass steel is fine. I doubt any such car would cost less than $200k still, but still less than half what a Singer costs.

I call this my absolute dream car because it is a car that I consider the end-all. If I could stable such a build, built exactly how I wanted it, I'd never need another special car. I'd probably have it, and one other car for DD duty and that's it. I'd never need (or be able to afford) another. But give me that perfect 911 and I'd be happy forever.

Ooh, this is a fun one.

Currently: Just my 86. Because daily. No plans in the short to mid term to have more cars.

I loathe the idea of (personally) buying used and there are lots of cars well out of production I'd love to actually own, so these will likely never make it into a future garage of mine. So the cars I'd want that would be in this hypothetical garage if I could somehow buy these new are:
A 300ZX TT Z32.
Mitsubishi FTO or GTO.
RX7 FC (maybe FD, I lean more towards the former.)
4rth gen Camaro.
1998 NA MR2 which I believe made the same power as a stock 86? Also lighter and mid engined...

To be clear I wouldn't (nor want to) own all of them at once but I can't decide which one or two to take between these. Maybe the 300zx and the MR2.

But as far as what's on the market today, that's another story entirely.
Veloster N.
WRX (non-STI)
Some other ones I can't think of off the top of my head.
A Honda S660 would be hilarious to own though.
On the iffy side of things: Supra/C8. If the C8 is bulletproof then I'd go with it for the novelty alone; I already have a Toyota FR vehicle that exemplifies their design philosophy.
