Does anyone have a picture of the actual cylinder heads from an FA24 from a BRZ/GR86?

I ask because I have an idea that has been brewing in my head....
FA24 block and cylinder heads with FA20 cam carriers, cams, front timing cover and oil pan (upper & lower).

IF, and I say IF, this all goes together this would be a drop in FA20 replacement. It obviously would need a tune to make it happy but based on parts diagrams only it looks feasible. I have the ability to try and assemble this...looks like about $5k in parts (FA24 short block + L & R FA24 cylinder heads. I have a donor FA20 to get the cams, carriers, front timing cover and oil pans from.

Anybody want to donate $ towards the parts, or donate an FA24, to see if this works? I'll put up $2500 of my own money....

I don't have that information, but you can get the '22 service manuals from my sigline and see if there's anything there that may help.

Appreciate it, I've got access to the entire Subaru Service Manuals as well.

Might be interesting as a proof of concept.
Using a non-OEM tune going forward as a marketing leader may be difficult.
It could fly in Florida. Will be hard to pass a smog test elsewhere.
Track only transported would likely work for the time being.

Does using 20 cams offer some sort of advantage over the 24's?

Not so much the cams, but the cam phazers to keep the computer happy...

Hmm after watching that I'm even more convinced it'll work...it may also be possible to run the FA24 cams with the FA20 cam phazers....

There is a guy in the FT86Club Discord that has a 2017+ car running a FA24 longblock with few FA24 sensors and a few repinned wires. Are you sure they even need to be swapped?

For a 2013 - 2016 car, yes.

Sorry, I missed the part where that year range was mentioned.

I have a whole spare long block I got for free. 2013. I can get you whatever parts you need in it. Keep in mind, my understanding is that the cam trigger wheels may not bolt up to the fa24 cams. RS Motor’s is making different ones. Here is a picture they posted on FB. May be able to mod the stock ones to work but IDK.

I'm looking for 2022+ Cylinder heads, I've also got a 2013 long block. I've seen RS Motor's solution which is great, but I'm not so thrilled about the modification needed on the FA20 cylinder heads to make the FA24 work, that's why I want to try the FA24 short block & heads with the FA20 upper oil pan, timing cover cam carriers and camshafts....
