Thanks JDL. Yet another high quality awesome piece.

Matt, a video with sound would be AMAZING. Really debating on close to the same set up (quieter exhaust with some cats after header) as yours. Thx in advance!

Hmm.. Makes me worried about my pending order.

I wouldn't be too worried. It is just barely touching the pan. If it can be fixed by doubling the gaskets then just order two sets of gaskets just incase. Here is the pic I took.

I hate to be that guy, but I am new to modifying a car and this is the first major mod I have done. So sorry about all the questions.

So I was wondering if anyone had any problems with oil cooling with the new headers. The driver side pipes seems to be pretty fair away, but the passanger side(the shorter ones) come pretty close to the oil pan. I am going to be doing auto-x, some track driving as well, plus the car is a daily so I don't want any sort of problems. Maybe it is just me, but it has me a little worried.

Hi
The double gaskets works fine and no leaks. you can try it .
If the headers touch the pan slightly or other parts of the engine it wont cause any noises cause it moves along with the engine, but dont know in long term if the heat from the header will damage the pan or causes overheat, but i doubt it unless maybe if you track your car often.

That's a relief! And you said the headers don't touch the outer corner of the pan at all, correct?

I don't track the car often but I do intend to once or twice a year. I autocross more often because it is more affordable. So heated up oil is a no go. Might just buy an oil cooler just to be safe.

So now that I am able to tune on ecutek I've been experimenting on a locals car. We hit 200whp/157wtq today JDL header, over pipe, carted front, TRD intake on 91octane.

We still have a few tweaks to finish on the tune and e85 testing will be soon.

To put into comparison, I put a friends innovate e85 frs on afterwards with stock exhaust and stock pulley on to make sure the dyno wasn't reading high. He put down 241 whp and I forget what torque.

I'm hoping he didn't have an intercooler on the supercharger kit with it being on e85.

Haven't driven the car since I looked at the oil pan, I did make a video before deciding to put it into hibernation, until I take the headers off! Anyway, enjoy!

Recently all these posts about the header touching the pan. IMO why should anyone have to double the gaskets?, can JDL not fix the jig so there is no touching etc?.... I find this tad dissapointing..

They can, and they will! I got an email from them saying that I can get a replacement header no problem, once they are back from break. I was a bit worried they wouldn't so I was looking for a solution just in case, but they pulled through with great support!

Non intercooled. I had not used that dyno before so we used a car in which we knew what power it made on other dynos as a baseline to compare. Mustangs typically read low. The car with the JDL feels quite nice andreally moves considering how few mods are done. We are going to do a muffler delete when we do e85 to see if we get any slight top end improvements.
