Help - HKS el Header won't line up properly
So I bought HKS el headers (used) from a guy local to me.
When I'm trying to put them on it's not lining up properly. Is it normal? do I need to use lot of force to get them on? Please see the Pic below. https://ibb.co/HXNbtBN Am I missing something? The headers use to be on a 2016 GT86 |

Normal. Thin metal tubes heated and cooled repeatedly. Use some muscle and push them apart.

Do you have the header 100% unbolted, you didn’t bolt up to overpipe and or front pipe already?
Could try a heat gun just wear gloves, get it hot and muscle it on. It looks like it should be able to go on, maybe try having someone help you and push one side on but just hold it at the tip of the stud and get the other side on it doesn’t look much off, if one side is fully pushed on the other side might be angled causing the interference. |

This is not unusual, I recently built my engine, while doing it I left my headers off the car on the workshop floor for about 3 months. When I went to put them back on the car I had the same issue as you.
I tried placing a bottle jack between the flanges and spreading them apart, unfortunately they just kept springing back, in the end I bought a new header. Funnily enough the new header shipped with a spreader bar installed between the flanges, just a metal rod with two bolts at either end but obviously even the fabricator is aware it can happen over time. You may be luck and a little force or heat might relax the tubing enough to get it in there. Best of luck either ways |

Use a jack to spread a little wide, use a tape measure, then heat with a torch and let cool with the jack in place.
