Hi Jeff,
As you might know, in some European countries an annual or bi-annual vehicle inspection is mandatory (MOT, TÜV etc.).

Germany is one of the strictest: If you make any modifications to your car, you have to get your car inspected by TÜV (Trans: Technical Inspection Association) and the modification approved. This is a "one time exceptional approval" for the individual car and might be hard to obtain without thorough documentation from the manufacturer about the part in question.

1) What documentation do you deliver with the brakes that would help in that matter?

Another option is that the manufacturer itself approach TÜV and obtain a "General Approval" for their product (or another company on their behalf, like a distributor or dealer). In this case it is a lot more easy for the end user, as the only thing that TÜV will check, is if they follow the instructions for installation in the "general approval".

2) Would you consider obtaining such a "general approval"?

A TÜV approval is also a quality stamp and is widely recognised across Europe. So even for other European countries a TÜV approval is helpful.
We include a complete, detailed installation manual with our kits, but there is no other documentation.

We have no plans at this time to seek TUV approval for our Essex Designed AP Racing Competition Brake Kits. "General Approval" sounds simple, but based on my previous experience with TUV, it is not. Seeking approval for aftermarket brake kits can be a long and extremely expensive process. At my last company, we were forced by TUV to individually test and pay for every brake kit we manufactured for every different vehicle. That means that if we had four brake kits for the FT86, we would have to have four different tests, and pay four times to have each brake kit approved! It would have to be a huge market for us to pursue if we wanted to recoup those costs. The only way we would even consider doing so would be if we were working hand-in-hand with AP Racing's authorized German distributor for a particular vehicle market they wanted to pursue aggressively.

I wish we had better news for you...sorry!

Finished installing my AP Racing Endurance kit on my FR-S today, Im going to do a full review and write up on my website Import-addicts.com Its going to have really high quality photos and tasteful review. So far I love these brakes it was a piece of cake to install if you refer to the instructions step by step, thanks Essex for producing these high quality brakes hopefully we can be one of those lucky users who win a pair of rotors for our review haha
But here is the wheel fitment with two pairs of wheels we had in the garage at the time of the install:

Advan GT 18x9.5 +40 (So much clearance! 1.2+in)

Volk Racing RE30CS2 18x9.5 +40 (About 0.5-0.7in of clearance!)

Full write up coming to:
Import-Addicts.com

Essex/AP Racing BBK Owners- What wheels are you running?

Rays CE28 16x8 +42
Just about the lightest 8 inch wide rim that will fit over these babies!
No spacers and daylight between calipers and spokes.

Thanks for the additional fitments gents!

I love the CE28N's BTW. I have bronze 14's on my '92 Miata that weigh only a hair over 7 lbs. each. I just put some on my S2000 as well...great wheels!

So what brakes fit the Volk TE37RT 17x9.5 +40?

I noticed the Essex Sprint kit, but those are only 11.8" rotors

This probably won't help many people but the 17x7.5 +38 Prodrive GC010E clear the Sprint and Endurance templates with lots of room to spare.

I have been daily driving on Hankook RS3/57Xtreme's; however, it has gotten to a point where I can no longer stand the loud humming noise anytime I am over 65mph, I would like to replace them with my stock tires/rims for daily use.

I've looked through Eibach/H&R/Ichiba for 5x100 - 10mm - 56.1 spacer, but no luck. Everyone that does sell the correct size includes their own branded studs. I am just looking for the spacer alone as I will replace the OEM studs with ARP extended ones.

TLDR: For those who are running OEM wheels on the AP Kit, can you share what brand spacer (Part #) you are running?

The AP Sprint kit fits under the OEM STi wheels that came on the series.blue. Same size wheel as normal stock. There's not a TON of room, but it totally works.
