Hello Everyone! Thank you for the questions and comments. Let me try to clarify a few things. Toyota of Olympia was impressed and grateful for the opportunity to cater to our 86 Enthusiasts last year in 2015, that they have truly invested money this year as a way of saying "thank you." Toyota of Olympia is doing it simply because of our 86 community's great and positive attitude. Thanks to your commitments and support, we are able to push and hold these big events.

This event's main focus is to cater to all 86 Enthusiasts interests combining a car show, track time, meet and greet, go-karting, mixed in with some special guests who would love to come out and meet the 86 Community. The idea is to get all positive and enthusiastic owners to come out and meet one another while providing an opportunity to get some track time that is "hassle" free. Meaning not having to deal with the various forms, tech inspections, and high priced ticketing involved in holding a true track event such as an HPDE Event or other various forms of dedicated track events.

This is a great introductory for those who have little to no experience on the track. The pricing is set low so that all who have been hesitant in trying a track day before can finally say "Hey, I'd like to try it!" To top it off, it's not only track racing, but gymkhana as well so that everyone can finally get to try different sports our cars are involved in. We understand that there is a number of you who would like to push the limits of your car in which I have addressed and we will try our best to cater to those requests within reason.

We want everyone to come out and have fun and experience what this event has to offer. Are you going to push 100+mph on the track?, no. But you will be able to experience this track at an awesome pricing and so you will be better familiar with it the next time you come to the Ridge.

What it comes down to it my friends, if you are coming with the expectation of this being a dedicated track day with professional instructors etc. Than I am truly sorry for that miscommunication and if you would like to be refunded your money than please let me know through pm and I will contact Toyota. As mentioned before, this is a time for us to meet once again with the opportunity to have a track at our disposal.

Toyota of Olympia has truly taken a chance with investing money in our 86 Community with very little to gain on their end. Let's show our support by supporting the event and coming with a positive attitude.

Let's also thank the 20+ volunteers within our own 86 community who are working this event and ensuring that other 86s get to the event safely and on time.

This is gonna be an awesome time guys/gals!

I'm looking forward to this being the only time in my life that I'll be able to be on a track, driving a vehicle, and @Decay107 won't be faster than me. Come on Doug, don't crush my dreams bro... You know you'll always be faster than me at Sykart, have a little compassion.

On to the whole "public" thing, come on, we are all adults here and each have a comfort level we can drive at, it's not like there is any pressure to go beyond one's abilities even at real HPDEs.

Still looking forward to the event, and I'm sure there will be plenty of fun to be had on the kart track and the autocross.
I know, I know. We were collectively butthurt. We have also shared asphalt enough to be very comfortable with each others' respective skills.

I do feel the track event was misrepresented initially. I stand by my earlier posts and even considered asking for a refund but, in the end, I don't think, at least I hope there wasn't any intentional omission of details. I intend to participate with enthusiasm and respect for the process.

edit: just saw Bernie's post. Dude, I totally get it. Growing pains, planning, blah blah... It's all good.

...we can raise the bar next year. Jus sayin'

There was no omission of details on my end. Like all things and events I have presented before, I am transparent and let everyone know the details of everything that I am presented with.

A lot of hours and time has gone into the planning of these events with no type of compensation. All that we ask is that you come with an open mind and positive attitude. The idea is to meet people, share stories, laugh, etc., not simply pass one another.

I do appreciate everyone's support and maturity in these events and look forward to to a conversation and a hand shake

Don't you want to experience one of my signature passes in a real car?

Agreed. Thanks again Bernie for organizing this. We can just go to a separate lapping day to fulfill our speed needs. The purpose of this mega meet is to not only get people interested in HPDE so that they too will join us in the future but cultivate the community which we have formed due to the passion of our cars.

Regardless of what opinions and preferences I have, I will be there smiling and enjoying myself in all the activities available. Thank you for everyone that has organized this. It will be one of the highlights to my year.

Of course I hope everyone in the car is ok and did not get injured. I also hope the guy is able to get his car back up to what he enjoys it to be. Sometimes I'm a little more about facts when talking than feelings, even though I make decisions for myself based on my feelings.

That actually pushes the question of, will there be anyone out there to re-tread rims? So i dont have to bring 4 sets of rims and just a lot of tires

I'm sure the ridge would appreciate if you shredded your tires instead of your wheels.
