Yay! Will you let us know how it's doing every so often?

Of course I will try! Since I took on this rebuild it's sort of entered project car status. I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee (ZJ) that I daily. I'm fortunate enough where my commute is < 1 mile and it's usually too cold/snowy to drive a BRZ with sport tires year round.

I plan on going back through the pictures I have and maybe making a build thread. Hopefully I can remember/compile and write out the parts that were complicated to work on. With the age of this car, it's getting to the point where the people working on them aren't made of money and definitely aren't experts. I've had this car since 2015 and been through a good bit with it. It's funny to think back on when I first installed the aftermarket headers and how long it took. I could do aftermarket headers in under an hour now probably.

Only if they fit
It's like you say, patience is key. There are just more little steps than the average engine. Different configurations have their peculiarities but there's no magic involved.

Actually, I have on it some authority that turbo engines are different. I recall Jeremy Clarkson explaining turbos once. Something like “exhaust goes in, bits spin around, witchcraft happens and you go faster.” So according to that particular JC there are supernatural forces at work. And what the hell, a guy with those initials, ya just gotta trust what he says.

In Jeremy we trust. All others pay cash.
