$1k under invoice, so $27,131 w/ Performance pack plus taxes, fees and all that junk.

$500 under invoice should be easy, all the dealers were all offering that pretty much right off the bat without any real negotiation, in the MD/VA area at least.

I actually just ordered 17 BRZ with PP (in charcoal gray) and my rationale for buying it is because buying the Brembo brakes alone will cost you much much more than the $1200 addition that Subaru places on it. The other thing is that I got an insane deal on the car. I paid dealer invoice (a little over 28k) plus tax and it came out to around 30.5k OTD. Besides the value of it all, I just like to have the top of the line of my cars, and the ability to say you have the limited with performance package

Is this your first time buying a subaru - any loyalty credit?
Is this your first time buying from this dealer?
how much are your fees aside from government ones? Things like "dealer prep" or "documentation fee"?
Did you trade a car in?
Did you pay cash or financing?
How much % interest on the financing if financed?
Did you buy it and sign the papers at those prices?

Is this your first time buying from this dealer? yes, I was referred though

Did you trade a car in? no
Did you pay cash or financing? financing, but didn't discuss that. I can bring my own, or go though them, makes no difference, I have excellent credit.
How much % interest on the financing if financed? Subaru offers 1.9 right now, worst case I get 1.99 from my credit union.
Did you buy it and sign the papers at those prices? I have a VON, order has an ETA of Feb.
responses in bold

To get the Performance Package or Not? Thread

Just placed the order for mine! $28,660+TTL. It's not the best deal I could have gotten, there's a dealership an hour outside of my city that had it for me at invoice, but I'm happy with it.

That is not a bad price. Selling below invoice makes sense if it is a lot car or there is a dealer rebate going on to compensate for $500 dollars. There is no rebate going on for ordered from Japan cars. Some people are willing to work for nothing to get volume.

I actually would not buy from someone skimming so low on profit. There is no possible way the dealer will be able to ever take back the car or assist someone, or fix situations with that thin of a profit.

The actual cost for dealer documentation fees is about 40-50 dollars. $75 is the maximum amount allowed in NY State. 300 dollars is about $250 profit. I guess they use that as it is non refundable padding.

Ordered mine today! Wasn't planning on getting the PP but after the discount I got from the dealer I decided to go ahead on it (discount pretty much covered the PP and I still walk away with a subtotal, before ttl, of less than invoice).

Dorian Mansella:you recently reviewed the 2017 BRZ with the new performance package. Can you compare the ride qualities of perf.pack vs orig?
0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes

Max Prince: Hey! Thanks for reading. No street drive, just Fuji. But ride feels similar to early FRS & brakes are lovely. Recommended.

----------------------------------------

Max Prince is the guy who tested the BRZ with Performance Package. I made a separate thread about it. Very tiny amount of information, but he seemed to like it. So: great brakes, no difference in ride quality on Fuji raceway. I guess fuji is smooth? Looks kinda beat up, I wouldnt know.

Our course of action is clear. We must kidnap this man and force him to tell us everything he knows.
