front plate relocators vs. THEFT?

so i just got my car, and i was SO GLAD to see the dealer had not screwed the plate bracket to the front bumper.
still waiting on my plates but i want to order a plate relocator kit before they arrive. but i was thinking about it, and ...

wouldnt it be really easy for somebody to just walk up and take my whole plate by turning it on that one stud that goes into the bumper?
i mean it would literally take some lowlife like 10 seconds to steal the plate, right???
somebody please tell me im wrong, and if i am, please recommend a relocator kit to me?
currently considering the grimmspeed kit.

THANKS!

No more easier than unscrewing the 4 screws that normally hold a plate on...

I'd rather steal the Scion badges before a license plate...

I mean, they are going to be rare now.

I have the Grimmspeed kit on my car and its not as simple as just twisting the plate off the adapter. There are two screws holding the plate bracket to the adapter via a u-bracket. The plate itself goes on top with four screws.

But like Vampyre said, theres no difference taking a plate off the relocator kit versus normal placement or whatever. Not sure why people would steal a front plate though

THIS.

cant you just turn the shaft going in the bumper and you have both a free "go rob a bank" license plate for your getaway car, and a neat front mount sell or use or... you get my point.

i guess its just the risk we take. i used to hear horror stories of spoilers being removed with a truck and some tow rope... people will be jerks.

is someone really going to go out of their way to steal your relocation kit? I have never even thought that someone would try and steal it lol. if anything, you probably have a higher chance of getting your wheels stolen than some $50 relocation kit lol

if it makes you feel more secure, at least the grimspeed kit comes with hex key bolts, so less chance of some random guy walking around having the tools to remove your relocator. however, if someone really wants it... they are gonna take it no matter what lol. same with anything else on your car, or even your car itself.

IMO they would still need a wrench. I had the grimmspeed kit.

Rotating the license plate isn't going to unscrew the allen bolt that connects the plate frame to the tow-bolt. If you wrench the tow-bolt tight enough, that's not going to unscrew either. The plate frame will just spin on it's own axis.

Also, the front plate has no registration sticker. I doubt anyone would want it. Worst case is you'll walk to your car and the plate would be all crooked from someone turning it.

I see your worries but.....
I'm not saying you should do what I do or anything like that.... but
I don't have a front plate at all. I keep mine in the truck along with 4 zip ties just in case the Man pulls me over and asks. If so I'll just zip tie to the bumper in less than 30s.

so what is the one to get? i think grimmspeed seems like the way to go.
makes sense if i just wrench the tow bolt really tight it wont budge.

thanks for all of your input!
