I'd forget about the Kenwood and get the Parrot though. Or you could buy my Kenwood as soon as I've gotten the Parrot. The Kenwood doesn't have nav though.

Either way, the Caska looks as neat and OEM as it's ever going to get, there is no denying that, I just feel that there are better units from better manufacturers at lower prices.

Have a look on the Toyota.co.za site, I think the Land Cruiser 79 takes the same shape unit as the 86. It's about the same price as the the Caska one I think but then it's a proper Toyota Nav unit...
I was actually considering buying the Kenwood from you, I'm not concerned about Nav, I just want something that's better than the stock radio.

Cool, are you in a hurry? I'd have to wait for the Parrot first and lets see on the 4th if you like it or not.

Nope no hurry at all, but I'm sure I'll still like it when I see it...

Great, let's see on the 4th then. I'm a gadget freak which is why I HAVE to have that Parrot.

BTW
I'd probably sell the Kenwood as a "plug & play" kit including the Toyota wiring harness and adapter plates since I've got an extra set anyway.

Hey guys, new to the forum and awaiting patiently the delivery of my 86! Thanks for the links for audio systems, has anybody tried the caska or stopshop one? Really would like to change the audio system when I get the vehicle but feel R11000 as quoted by Toyota is a bit of a rip off. What do you guys think of the stop shop Hilux 300 one for R3,189, that won't include GPS but should fit perfectly just hope all the harnesses are included?

Howzit and welcome

I'm not keen on the Stopshop stuff since it's overpriced stuff from China, plus the shipping is not cheap at all. You can find MANY of those on dealextreme.com, ebay.com and alibaba.com for a lot less.

IF I was going to spend R10k I'd rather spend it on a radio from Toyota(LC 79) but then I'd have to be crazy to not rather buy the Parrot Asteroid 2din.

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking upgrading my radio to SATNAV. So far I have found OEM make called Roadrover ( according Indian dude who fits them Toyota use Roadrover as main supplier in SA ). The cost including installation is R7K. The rear camera comes with too. My mate put one into his BMW and he is very happy.

I reckon see if you can find one to play with?

It's good that there is local support but my concern is software updates and the UI. They're almost never as good as the big brands.
