Pretty much everything between post #70482 to #70521, and you always trying to bait someone into an argument is not helping.

Maybe you should think about how things may have affected others and whether or not they are having problems do to the current situation before you open your mouth and make things worse.

I am a villain for having an opinion?
You only think it was political because it is to you. There were n politics included in that debate.
How was asking people to support their statements "baiting" anybody?
I didn't even start the conversation but will not stand back smile and nod when people make presumptions and outright falsities.
Are you presuming that I have not been impacted? Did you not consider how your response impacts me? Don't be a hypocrite.

He's not baiting anyone, he's asking for evidence and it's what people with their thinking caps on do. Hi, not that it's relevant but late thirty year old mixed black/korean male here. I've had what I'd say is less than my fair share of racism in life as most brown people should probably say because the world is getting better. But why attribute something like racism to murder at the hands of a power tripper? That's still injustice. It still needs to be addressed that in a constitutional republic, no one is above the law. That's the real problem. Tcoat is merely asking you to defend your point.

I did the research for everyone so we could see what was up. My post wasn't inflammatory but if you don't want to see beyond what you already believe, your thinking cap is already off.

I addressed most of this above. But absolutely. The issue is a human was killed. Not a black man by a white cop. Authority overstepped it's bounds and contributed directly to the death of a fellow human. THAT is the story. Looting and rioting only costs tax dollars and will be recouped in tax dollars; essentially shooting ourselves in the foot. Our fellow humans. We are one race, humans. We are MANY cultures.

LOL DUDE I make fun of many people it doesn't even matter how long you have been here.
Their response helps separate the snowflakes from the rational.
I also could be arguing with you in one thread and helping you out in another. It is subject matter I debate not people.

Personally, I'd rather not speak about it. (I'm a double minority, my voice isn't any louder or quieter than anyone else exercising their free speech. Welcome to america)

If you're not saying anything, it's fine. It doesn't mean you're being complicit. It just means you are exercising your right to not say anything at all which can be a form of speech. Silence. Big surprise. Or it can mean you're neutral and you're waiting for all of the actual facts to be released to make a decision.

Since this thread is called random thoughts....

I haven't watched the news in a year and a half. Just decided to turn it all off. I hear things from people and then I MIGHT do some research myself.

So can ANYONE tell me for sure this cop was a racist and not just a power tripping officer that manslaughtered another human? Race isn't even relevant unless it can be proven that it is. He could easily just be a s*** human.
i haven't really made any motivation to installing a tv antenna for local stations for going on 4 years. i honestly don't miss any of it.

i might look into the whole thing further if i remember in a year-- after all the personal biases flare down, and the facts tend to rise to the surface more.

If the guy was a white car thief would we care?

I wouldn't .

It is sad that the guy died, and that police officer was a ****.

But, death by misadventure is a real thing when you do crime, restraining people can get tricky, takedowns can get messy.

Punish the culprits, both the criminals and the police that take things past reasonable force.

Reasonable force wasn't kneeling on his neck, that guy was down and ready to be shipped.

Years ago I worked security at a hospital in the city, drunks, drug addicts and theives were my bread and butter, you needed to take them down fast and hard, more than occasionally you needed to hurt them to keep them down, more than occasionally they ended up broken and bloody.

They were of all races and nationalities.

I treated them all with equal vigor, you never knew when the knives would come out or the drugs would kick in, so alot of things by misadventure were reported when the investigations took place.

I can tell you something though, every nurse, doctor or general patient was happy that the situation was dealt with the way it was.

The only people who complained were the criminals.

My point is really when you are dealing with criminals you need to go in hard and fast because the time you don't, you end up beated, or stabbed.

I did my share of stays in a hospital bed after dealing with some idiot/s.

This is the risk assessments that go thru a police officers head everytime they make an arrest, do they go in hard, or is this the time they end up in hospital or don't go home to their family.

99% of the protesters have never needed to take someone down to protect the innocent or apprehended a criminal so they don't know the inherent risks that the police deal with on a daily basis.

Me, I say go in hard, better to be safe than sorry.

The alternative is what?
