BRZ headunit problem USB sticks & headunit reset..school me.

Again this is for Subaru BRZ 2014

-I have a PNY 32gb USB stick I bought a couple weeks ago to store music on.

-Car only has 1500 miles

-Perhaps coincidence, but the day I started using the USB stick. My stock headunit blacked out for about 10 seconds, then returned to normal operation. The second time , 10 minutes later getting onto the interstate ..it blacked out ..then reset to pre-delivery settings ..asking me to initialize the system and select language etc etc ...

-I will need over 100gb to store my whole music library so Im thinking of getting a different stick

-Does the BRZ support USB 3.0 stock?

-Is there a compatibability issue of USB sticks wether it is 2.0 or 3.0 I should maybe be aware of? Or can you link me to it if you do not have the time?

This happened to me too with a 4gb usb stick... same symptoms as you describe, reset, and reset with all settings cleared out like brand new. My solution was to stop using it completely and just use bluetooth streaming for music from my phone.

I had the same issue. Figured out that it was a couple of songs not loading properly that caused it to reset. Deleted those songs and everything is fine since.
