So I was at my shop today and there is nothing like a sign, a PN or any other mark left on the belt. Hence I won't find out which belt it was.
But the mechanic told me that when they installed the belt it was perfectly sitting there and was neither too long nor too short. For my 2.87" pulley I have ordered the Gates K060960HD. Do you guys can recommend any other belt manufacturer? Since those belts are not on the market here in the EU I want to stock up a bit on them so that I dont have to wait for like 4 weeks for a new belt to arrive from the US. |

Are those spider web at the end of your engine room power bars?

I am not exactly sure what you mean, mate, but the spider web comes from my insulating mat unter the hood which has been abused by the ruptured belt

No and yes.
Up to 1 bar boost we are using the maf. Above 1 bar we are using the map and hence run on speed density. The wastegate you see is just for the electronical boost control and fully closed under normal conditions. Oh and today we switched from the 3.125" pulley to the 2.87" pulley. So to say there were no gains with the smaller pulley. The dyno now says 396 hp instead of 391 with the 3.125". My intake temperature after the intercooler is roughly around 60°C (dyno room with fans was around 23°C) and hence ignition had to be pulled quite a lot. I guess that the blower (doesn't matter if V-3 or V-2) is not suitable for power leves above 400hp at the crank on pumpgas. That is quite disappointing ... |

Interesting. I was planing on running the 2.87" wastegated to 11 psi to build boost faster, but now I'm thinking the extra temp is just going to hurt me on the top end compared to just running the 3.125".

There is also a 3.00" pulley. It is an 8 rib but can be used. Yes you will have higher IAT with the 2.87 and lose some top end as 60C is going to make pump fuel unstable. However the dyno room is likely going to most likely have a bit less air flow than your car doing a 4th gear pull on the street, or the short duration of a 2nd gear pull. You are also creating more parasitic loss by adding a wastegate to the system and having to spin the blower faster and just wasting the extra air.

I was thinking regulated for gas. Full boost for e85.

Why should I have a higher parasitic loss with the wastegate when it is fully closed?
This has mainly to do with law regulations over here in Germany. The TÜV (kind of a technical supervision authority) does not allow more power than 300ish hp at the crank. Thus I use the electrical boost control to limit power to 300ish hp and to still have the ability to go bonkers with close to 400 hp at the crank. If one planned to use the wastegate to run a smaller pulley to build up boost sooner but still limit it to not like put more stress on a not built engine than it can handle, then yes. One would get less efficiency due to a higher parasitic loss. I just picked up the car from the shop and did some testing with spirited street driving. I dont know. Even tho power levels are quite equal and the 2.87 pulley builds up boost a bit sooner than the 3.125 but still. It kinda feels like that the 2.87 is the worse setup. Hard to explain with words, but it just does not drive as smooth as with the 3.125" pulley. I think the 3.125" is the best and I will switch back to it. I als doubt that the 3.00" pulley would significantly enhance the situation. My conclusion to this is that with the Vortech on pumpgas 400ish is the maximum one could reach. |

Anyone looking for a kit I've got one for sale. Both stock pulley and 3.125 along with extra belts and Charger oil.

Looking for some numbers if anyone has any input. Got the kit installed over the weekend hooked up my autometer mechanical boost gauge. the gauge is reading ~20psi of vacuum at idle and my tablet running dash command is reading ~10. Anyone know which is these is more accurate.
I ran a first gen kit a little over a year ago and am pretty sure everything is hooked up properly. |

Does your gauge show psi or in Hg for vacuum? Usually it's the latter, in which case 18-20 is okay.
