I'm sure there are outliers, but I think - in North America at least - the automotive industry is a very bi-partisan affair.

DCTs are typically longer so some cutting would probably have to be involved. But I'd be down if they could manage it! |

That picture is also very deceptive. The 2020 is only 4 inches longer, 1.5 inches wider and 2 inches higher. It isn't the David and Goliath scenario the pic would have you think.

Why does it need one? The BMW ZF is a very well configured box, smoother than a DCT when you're not on it and I bet you would barely notice the difference when on the move as it changes gear very quickly. At no point did I think that I needed the gear changes to be quicker.

Sorry, that's BS. Instead they're using the 911 to fill the gap that used to be done by the 911 + 928. If the 928 still existed the 911 wouldn't be so bloated.

Went from 2100 pounds to 2340 pounds. This is about the same percentage increase that every other car in production for the period went through.

I will add that it would be great if somebody showed me the crash test results for a Miata.

So much this? That a joke? A lighter smaller car will always be less safe than a heavier larger car. But sports cars are sports cars, not purchased for being bank vaults. Nobody buys a 2800 lb car to be safe. If that was someone's primary concern then they would buy a 4000 lb CUV. All modern vehicles sold in 2020, even the ones with 1 star crash ratings, are ridiculously safe.

No doubt about that with the NA Miata. Photos of those cars after they flip are not pleasant sights!
