Taking off Front Plate Bracket...
Hey guys, does anyone know how to take off the front license plate bracket? I decided to relocate my front plate. Got my car almost 2 years ago and didn't really had a thought of using the tow hook area, but now that I relocated my plate, I'm left with the bracket that the dealership installed and it won't come off. I tried almost everything but cutting the bolt off, does anyone have any suggestions before I cut it, kinda don't want to do that though cause I'm afraid of melting my bumper..

the front plate uses expandable rubber plugs in the bumper. you need to take the screws out.

My $.02, unless I could afford and was willing to replace the bumper, I would just put the plate back. A bumper with holes is going to look like shit.

Yeah I thought about that too, but I found license plate deletes that I could just screw on or my friend offered to bondo the holes for me. Thank you for your opinion though! Maybe in the future I'll replace it, but for now I don't really want to.

the only way to get them out is a massive amount of work (cutting/grinding/drilling, with a ton of breaks to avoid the low melting point the bumper) and a donation to the swear jar. no. just no. the bumper is plastic. bondo is not compatible with plastic. bondo is for hackjob hustlers and wannabe's. don't be a wannabe.

i don't think those 'plate delete plates' look any less stupid than a normal vanity plate in the oem plate holder... i've never been of the opinion that a installing a larger hole to cover a smaller hole is a 'solution'.
so bumper urathane has a melting point of around 100 degrees. meaning your day gets worse right before the point where it's considered warm/hot to the touch. if you can get a channel locks behind the bumper, you could possibly try to hold the anchor while using an impact on the bolt on the other side to attempt to break it loose. if that doesn't work(it probably won't), drill bits, with some cold water can help-- put the hose on a trickle to wash over the bumper hole and let it water cool the bumper as you drill the bolts out. you'll still want to hold the retainer from the back though to keep it from spinning. it's messy, and it will still take a lot of time, as the metal bolt will attempt to retain the heat, so you need to take frequent breaks to allow the cold water to bring the bolt back down off temp.
