Do you ever feel like an asshole for coming to a complete stop?

Around here damn near nobody comes to a complete stop at stop signs. I personally have made it a habit to come to a complete stop at stop signs on public roadways including my neighborhood.

I have been rear ended twice at stop signs by people who were expecting me to roll through and make a right turn, as they were looking for oncoming traffic and not my brake lights.

So I'm actually kinda paranoid when coming to a stopsign where most people make a right turn.

Anyhow given the prevailing behavior of most motorists at stop signs around here I sometimes feel like a **** for a obeying the rules of the road, go figure. Even got honked at and flicked off for complete stops and strictly following the speed limit in my neighborhood once, though the guy was tailgating me.

Yes, but i still do it. A lot of shit happens when you don't stop. You'd be surprised...

Don't care what anyone says, you're an asshole if you don't use your turn signal when need be.

Fuck no! I come to a complete stop every time and look left-right-left.

I've found that coming almost to a stop a couple meters ahead of the actual sign and then rolling up to it slowly and then coming to a complete stop gives the people behind enough warning where they don't hit you.

If someone wants to be ridiculous and get all bent out of shape because you came to a full stop they can get fucked.

No, and you should not. If they hit you, THEY'RE the asshole. If a cop saw you roll through, you'd get pulled over.

People yell and scream, flail their hands around, and tailgate me so hard I can't see their headlights when they're behind me because I'm doing the speed limit or slightly over, in a no-passing zone. Sorry strange lady who's freaking out behind me and has been following me for miles... That animal just ran right out in front of my car, and my instinct was to brake. On that note, I generally keep my cool and don't ever brake check people because the last thing I want is someone hitting me, but damn if she didn't have it coming to her..

I only roll when there is no one in sight. You should always stop completely when there are cars around or else you will fuck up everyone.

I have no intentions of losing my habit of coming to complete stops, but it's amazing how few do.

Here in California, stop signs are "stoptional". If you have enough time and distance to see all the cross traffic, there's no reason to. Same goes for right turn on red.

I take my time rolling up to stop signs & turning. I shouldn't have to gun it to merge in local traffic. If the irrational driver behind me gets pissed off then I just consider it a win.

I didn't make the laws. So you gotta...

I apologize for nothing. Even how lame I choose to be

I agree.. I always get pissed when people pull out when they shouldn't.. Idk if I'm the only one but I believe I shouldn't have to brake when someone pulls out and merges in front of me..
And I won't pull out and cause people have to brake when they shouldn't need to.. .02 cents
