Just a suggestion...

Only a suggestion, but...

Any chance that FR-S specific stuff could be kept to the North American forum?

I don't want to cause offence, but I come to this particular part of the forum for general FT86 news. I really don't care about stuff that's exclusive/changed on the Scion model, because the US (part of North America, last I checked) is the only place in the world that gets this model.

Comparisons between models are okay (eg, FR-S vs BRZ vs 86), but topics like "Scion drops the ball" shouldn't be in this part of the forum, in my opinion...

Just really frustrating seeing all these threads about the FR-S when it's really got nothing to do with the rest of the world. I'm sure a lot of others outside the US probably think the same. We don't care that your climate control knobs are different, or what body kit Five Axis is making, okay?

For those struggling to see my point, imagine what you'd feel like (assuming you're not Aussie, haha) if every second thread in here was about Australian dealer and aftermarket options that weren't available elsewhere?

Sorry again if I've caused offence, wasn't my intention, but there's region specific forums for a reason, right?

Alternatively, you could ask about Australia specific features here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=20

Someone should start up an Australian-based forum if it does not already exist.

I used to visit the MR2 UK forums (one for MkII and one for MkIII) just to enlighten myself on exclusively European market models and parts sales I never saw on US forums. I know how you feel having to sift through BS but you got no choice here, buddy.

you could start one yourself....

This forum was made years ago when the development started and I am sure will evolve now that that car(s) are here.

that's already the case so maybe the US specific stuff should also go to the US regional forum?

so u are saying it is right that the general 86/GT86/FRS section should be evolved to US specific FRS only discussion?

That's not the point I was trying to make. If we're all posting in the regional forums, then there's no reason for this sub-forum to exist.

Once we have more information on what is getting changed from region to region, the moderators will be able to break this sub-forum down into daughter-forums that more effectively group relevant topics. The structure at www.bimmerforums.com/forums is a really good example of the direction in which we need to move.

Agree with you. There's no Scion & Five Axis in my country too. I feel these topics should be move to States Regional forum.

I think we need daughter forums structured:

86

GT86 - European Market Vehicle Specific Discussion

FRS - North American Market Vehicle Specific Discussion

But as structured, we're all under the same umbrella in this forum. It has FRS in the name of the sub-forum, so we're going to talk about the FRS until that changes. Just need the moderators / admins to get the ball rolling on it.

I think once all the information finally gets FINAL

There should be:

Toyota GT-86 (w/ subforums for exhaust/performance/appearance)

SCION FR-S (w/ subforums for exhaust/performance/appearance)

Subaru BRZ (w/ subforums for exhaust/performance/appearance)

Then Offtopic/FS (even split this into "car" )
