FI rebuild tips internal mods?
Just blew my motor a few days ago looking for forged pistons, rods, ect.... don't believe I blew a rod from the block can't see any visual damage, or oil so most likely will be building on to my block. Let me know what's the best and safest route for internal that will hold some power.

What FI kit? my plans are to completely redo the piping layout and mount for my HKS GT SC set up. MODS: HKS GT Supercharger HKS S type Oil cooler E85 FIC Injectors DW65cc fuel pump Stock and 95mm pulley PLANS: so far, keep oem crank with new rods, pistons etc. cams and springs reduce piping bends/enlarge intercooler remount sc to drivers side vs directly in front of the intake route air and improve cooling to oil cooler and sc traction cooler. |

I am running maperformance kit with precision 5858 turbo, 850cc fic fuel injectors, dw65cc fuel pump , uel manifold, with map custom + 1.5qt oil pan. Also i am running a delicious flex fuel kit so will be running e85 again. Not to sure who I'm going to get tuned by this time though. Im not to sure which direction I will be going with it right now definitely rods, pistons, and most likely valves. Still have my options open definitely want to run around a 10.0 cr definitely looking for best internals don't want to have to deal with this again. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk |

If you're not going v8, have an fa20 expert build it. My first choices would be grabow and full blown.

Don't ignore the heads. Upgrade your valve springs at the very least!

We've done a few this year, and as stated above this is not an easy diy kind of thing. Don't skimp on the little stuff. Cometic gaskets, arp hardware, upgraded springs should all be standard build items. At high rpms if you float the valves rockers will shoot out the valve covers, and setting up the rings is critical on the horizontally opposed motors unless you want a good bit of oil consumption. Built right they should last a long time, but make sure to allow adequate warm ups when using forged components.

To be clear, there are lots of good shops out there. Evasive gets good reviews. Moto-East does too. Prime Motoring. Of course, in the end, any engine from any builder tunes by any tuner can pop.
