Light flashing under trail braking.
The light next to the shift light in the upper right of the tach flashes whenever I try to trail brake. The same light stayed on solid when our BRZ was on the dyno, and went off as soon as we started driving normal after the dyno session, so the light is definitely directly related to wheel speeds/wheel speed sensors. I have both traction and stability control fully off. Does anyone know how to eliminate this? It's interfering with trail braking, and forces the car to understeer instead of rotating the car how I want it to. *disclaimer* this is for track use. |

If it's turned fully off you can do as you wish. It will still light up but won't interfere.

Will it lift-throttle oversteer?
I'm not being a ****.. But you aren't asking for too much steering input are you? Ie, are you causing understeer? |

I haven't tested it yet, but it might flash when the ABS is engaged also..
The only other thing I can think of might be the SSmart Stop or whatever it's called. Are you deep into both the gas and brake at these points on the track? |

Yes, I'm "causing" the understeer, but the car is understeering in a scenario where it should be rotating. The understeer is a symptom of the braking system not allowing me to do what I want. If I brake at 90% of the limit of the tires, then I can get more simultaneous rotation and braking out of the car than if I try to brake at 100%. |

I'm not sure about the light, that will take some playing around. I'll have to try to remember to see if I can get the light flashing at the next AutoX. It still might be the Smart Stop or whatever. Though trail braking isn't really the place where you'd be hard on both pedals.
As for the car's behavior, perhaps it has a lot more front bias than you are used to? You might be asking too much of the front tires without realizing it. Dunno. |

Well, seems like it's the EBD, I'm really surprised and I wonder what it's trying to do.

But the end result is that braking distance is actually increased... we're talking like 30% increased...

I felt this several times yesterday on a bumpy canyon road, I would jab the brake on entry or mid-turn to make a correction and the car would "release" the brakes and point the car straight. Not a good feeling! will have to try pulling the ABS fuse next time to see if that helps.
