I haven't yet but I think @Chris@Phastek changed his belt after some wear at the track.

Just snapped my belt today. I am assuming you have to take off the blower since you had it off when you installed it. Has anyone upgraded the belt to the race version?

How many miles on the belt?

Makes me want to think about stopping by autozone and picking a spare up....

Most of them have it in stock, autozone PN 975K6

No joke this happened to me as well yesterday, belt shredded and my idler pulley on the compressor assembly looks melted in the center and off balanced and the lip is chewed off (4500 miles on my kit to). Bought a new belt and idler pulley at autozone its a 3" dayco pulley part # 89003, I contacted vortech about this today and I was told I needed to send the bad parts to them for them to be looked at and determine the cause first. I'm not going to do that since that will leave my car down for at least a week. When I easily fixed the problem myself for $35 in one day, it would cost like $20 just to ship the damn bad parts out there. Not a big deal but definatley not something I expected from a $5k kit. Pics... And more later of the pulley after I removed it since my phones acting weird

Lip of the plastic pulley I found melted off in the bay

Shredded belt

I was just doing a video about this.
You have to pull the blower. Fun right?

Anyway in case you guys need to know its the same belt on all the Azera and Genesis 3.8L V6 and Sonata 3.3L.

There are two options:

Gates K060975 OEM belt.
Gates K060975RB racing belt which is stiffer more resistent to stretching and twice the price. (Blue Color)
@tg_1981 please post pics of which pulley and root cause if you can.

I only have a pic of the belt on the ground. The root cause I suspect is the idler pulley since it was the only pulley that was locked up. Once the car cooled down some the idler pulley was able to spin somewhat freely again. Sorry for the size of the picture i used my iphone and was not sure what size to use on the forum.
