Got tires mounted on wheels today. SPL RLCA, Toe Arm and Tie Rod Ends, as well as RCE Tarmac 2, Hawk DTC-30 and potentially a pair of OMP seats going on the car tomorrow. As well as fluids all around for break in + brake fluid. Alignment on Friday then hit the track on Saturday. Will share some photos once it's all installed. Should start a build journal too this weekend.

Installed the Perrin MCB this morning. It's amazing how little flex in the firewall translates to making the brake pedal soft, it's so much firmer now.

Storage Cubby
Saw a little storage accessory on Amazon and thought I might be able to enhance the design and for the price of a kilo of filament, experiment some.
I'll get it installed and show it with some stuff inside. Just wanted to share the progress. If you want the file to modify to your liking, just let me know. Designed in SolidWorks or I can generate a STL or STEP file. Finally got back from vacay and installed the tiny storage in the tiny car. I didn't put any ribs in it to hold things in designated slots. Thought the open design might be easier to wipe out after the typical accumulation of stuff gathers in the bottom. Pictures added below. Last edited by STLBRZ66; 05-16-2023 at 08:33 AM. Reason: Added installed photos |

Got the bucket seat installed last minute Friday night. Have the matching passenger but waiting for rails to come.
Track day on Saturday, first time out in the car. Felt amazing. Coming from an M2C that was track built as well there was a big adjustment to how you drive (momentum vs power) but got the hang of it and ended up being able to catch up time wise to some really fast twin drivers. Racecomp Tarmac 2s honestly felt amazing. I had MCS 2 way remote on my M2C and these Racecomps feel really similar on the same track and we're talking $3000ish vs $11,000ish (Canadian). Super happy that I ended up with these and excited to see how far I can push them this season in time attack. I haven't even played with adjustment yet. Overall I love this car. Couldn't be happier with the decision to sell the M2 and buy this "downgrade". Much more rewarding to drive and requires a lot more inputs and thoughts which makes the entire experience more fun and worth the time and money invested.

Picked her up today. Was a great drive back home. I missed this car so much after selling my 1st gen in 2019, even the shortcomings of it felt nostalgic (seat belt neck pain, steering wheel not telescoping enough etc).

What did you do to your 2nd gen BRZ today?
18s. Chance of two 20s fitting through that boot opening, zero. Last edited by ACT86; 05-25-2023 at 05:39 PM. |
