Also to note Toni has been pretty good on giving good pricing on "upgrading" your tune. For say e85 is only 650$ extra including flex fuel hardware iirc. Someone with experience tuning a number of these cars in different modified scenarios vs someone starting out.... Is nice to have. Also if you do buy the hardware Dyno comp etc can always do a new tune and you don't have to buy the hardware a second time.

I will need a tune soon with my header and overpipe that I am hoping to receive in a week or so. I was planning on going with FA20 as it is since it seems like Dyno comp is still a little ways out with being ready.

Add me to the Toni tune list, need a catted header first though. Torque dip is annoying.

Would love to jump in on this, but definitely don't have the funds right now. Does anyone know why these cars weren't made to be Flex Fuel right out of the shop? Seems like the way to go...

About how far out were you planning?

How far out are you planning?

Me and Keith are g2g as early as the next few weeks. Tracey leaves in september. It doesn't have to be before september but if only a few are doing it we may as well do it so tracey can jump on in. But if quite a few want it and it wont be till say late september we can possibly hold off.

So just to clarify near-worst case fee's at the current time for 5 people. I am over pricing things a bit to prefferably scare people with the worst it may be (estimated prices i will work on getting them lower once i hear back from the dyno and finish my call with Toni @ FA20):

NA Tune borrowing someone else's cable:
ECU Tek License $300.00
NA Tune: $300.00
Dyno Time: ~$190.00.
Fee to fly Toni & give him a room for the evening: ~140.00
Total: $930
(Total if we have ~10 people will be ~$750-800, unless i can cut a deal for discounted licenses & tunes which i will try to do!).

NA Tune without ANY hardware:
ECUtek Cable + License + tuning fee's: $850.00
Dyno Time: ~$190.00.
Fee to fly Toni & give him a room for the evening: ~140.00
Total: $1,180.00

E85 Tune without ANY hardware:
ECUtek Cable + License + tuning fee's: $950.00
Dyno Time: ~$190.00.
Fee to fly Toni & give him a room for the evening: ~$140.00
Total: $1,280.00

Re-tune for someone tuned with another tuner but has ecutek:
Hardware: $0.00
Tune: ~$300-400 (na/boost/e85 prices differ)
Dyno Time: $190.00
Fee to fly Toni & give him a room for the evening: ~$140.00
Total: $630-430

Existing FA20 customer:
Hardware: $0.00
Tune: $0.00
Dyno Time: $190.00
Fee to fly toni and give him a room for the evening: ~$140.00
Total: $330

Flex Fuel Tune without ANY hardware:
ECUtek Cable + License + tuning fee's: $850.00
Flex fuel hardware (if multiple want this i can see if i can work a deal out): $650.00
Dyno Time: ~$190.00.
Fee to fly Toni & give him a room for the evening: ~$140.00
Total: $1,880.00

Just to compare to another popular tuner for flex fuel:
Ecutek Cable + License + Tuning fee's: $1,300
Flex fuel calibration & Hardware: $900.00
NO DYNO: -----
Total: ~$2,200.00

Compared to alternative ECU setups that may be avaiable down the road (prices compared to honda civic):
AEM Series 2 (for either e85 or 91oct)
Hardware: $1,400
Tuner Fee's: $300-600
Dyno Fee: Typicaly Included
Total: $1,700-$2,000

Again these are just rough estimates. If you compare to other tuners, and other hardware setups down the road even being an early adopter and FLYING out the tuner isn't too bad.

Again these prices are over stated, I really don't think N/A guys will need this much time on the dyno so we will have more time available for us which will drop the overall price. I just priced the "average" flight for a few weeks out from florida (i will get an actual real estimate to see if its more soon) and arranged a bit of cash to pay him for the day he wont be working in the shop & quality hotel room for the evening. I may be able to work it out to drop this a bit but who knows. If a large number of people are wanting to purchase hardware from him i can see about doing a group rate for the hardware.

are there any cars w/ flex fuel from japan atm? I cant think of any. I can only think of america as we have a surplus of corn. And south american countries with sugar cane. That is a large cause afaik. It just isn't terribly popular.

Hoepfully not far. Just waiting on JDL to give me the heads up i can pick up my header. Should be within the next week or so.

I would need all the gear for the tune and would most likely get a 91 and E85 tune

For all people interested please contact me via PM with the following: (and post here as well if you feel like it!)

Current ECUTek Customer? (as in do you have a cable and license) Yes/No
Do you want to purchase a cable? Yes/No
Do you need an ECUTek License? Yes/No
Is FA20 currently your ECUTek Tuner? Yes/No
What maps are you wanting? NA 91cot / NA E85 / NA + E85 (manual switchign) / Flex Fuel
Are you boosted? Supercharged / Turbocharged / No
How soon are you wanting to have this work done? (Give an estimate)
On a scale of 1-10 how serious are you? (1 being slightly interested 5 being ready but not sure when, 10 being you are ready to purchase asap, text is an okay answer instead of numbers)
What is holding you back from jumping on the group buy to fly Toni down? (OPTIONAL)
Do you have a current tuner and are considering changing but are not sure why? (EXPLAIN CONCERNS)
Any other questions / concerns you may have

Thanks guys! This will make it MUCh easier for me to get a better ballpark of price, for flying, dyno time, and if i can get a deal with Toni on equipment. I am sure if a number of people are new purchases we might not need to pay as much to him for his time as everyone is already purchasing something (rather than old customers just trying to get "free' stuff). Which should drop our price. And as he will be in the area tuning our cars it won't be as much work for him to do them all at once.
