Sounds good.

I am planning on pacing out my performance mods, but I cannot decide which order to go in. I am Thinking OFT-->Q300-->OFT Header. Might as well put the biggest bang for the buck first, then retune when the other bits are bolted on.

People often love to quote peak HP and TQ figures when it comes to improvements but often times its not an fair metric to use when figuring performance increases. @shiv@vishnu spends lots of time working on the lower end of the power band as well as the top to ensure the rpm range that we spend most of the time in is just as improved on as the top. The improvements he's been dialing in not only affect the smoothness of the engine, but reduction in the torque dip area are pronounced. The improvements coming with the 1.6 maps surely will only further build on these improvements.

EDIT: If you are looking for bang for the buck then the OFT and OFH is where its at. Not that the supercharger kit isn't amazing on its own, but for the ease of installation and cost the header+tune is where its at!

Yea I figured as much reading all the comments and reviews of OFT. OFT has been on my radar since before I purchased my car, but I don't see many talking about improvements on stock (which is understandable). I come from an Audi A3 which I ran a stage II APR setup on. That car was a blast to drive on straightaways but left a bit (to be generous) to be desired on the curves. This car handles so much better, but needs a little spice to its step.

Yeah, the oft stage 1 is impressive. I know it takes just about 200 dynojet horse to be competitive with focus st. My friends st has an appetite for head gaskets and over heats worse than my old lady when I come home and collapse with a beer bottle in my hand. Imo in a year or so we'll be making 215 whp na with ease.

Imo the object is to keep the peak numbers at as low an rpm as possible. These motors are not yet fully understood so for me I'll let others go first when it comes to radical mods. I still wish they had made these 2.5 with lower compression, no d.I. and no frigging super computer to make the thing go from greyhound to sloth when the ambient temp goes up 1 fucking degree.

Gotta tell ya, pretty soon 200 plus horse will be within easy reach and that makes it a low 14 second vehicle which throws it right in the mix with all those cars that are soooo much faster.

Just flashed to "stage 2 el e85".. While I was doing so I saw "stage 2 el" (is this ran on premium 91/93 gas?)

The e85 maps are for use with e85 fuel only. The normal stage 2 maps are for use with 93 octane.

Sorry, excuse my n00bness but that confuses the crap out of me. Cause someone mentioned to me earlier that stage 2 for 91/93 octane wouldn't be out until OTS maps 1.6?

Stage 1 tunes allows me to drive it under 4000 rpm. Now I will install power blocks and try to figure out oft manager. Sucks, if I'd spent less time racing and more time learning this would be easier and both legs would be equal length. Oh well.

I've read on other sites guys getting 0-60 times in 7 second range with flashed mt cars. Are they doing this in reverse? I've done them with torque, hand timed with radar gun etc. and never gone that slow. Also use focus st as standard. That car ran 14.4 with cobb tune.

Anyone else having problems with the OFT not connecting after extended periods of datalogging.

I had this issue over the weekend. Seems after about 90 minutes or so of constant driving it just didnt want to connect to the ecu anymore.

I wasnt actually "datalogging" I was just monitoring.

Does OFT offer a flash for either of these Supercharger Kits:

Jackson Racing
Kraftwerks

This is the only hangup I have before I order.
