moar graphs!
I could definitely feel a difference during daily driving - I'm surprised that difference was about 1mm!

Things have been slightly chaotic with the acquistion last week, but we're still chugging along. We're basically folding two shops into one, so there's lots of work to be done. We're getting ready for the open house this Saturday, so we've been getting the BRZ all prettied up.

I've had "rewire auxiliary electronics" on my agenda for a while now, and finally got around to it. We bought a Painless fuse block, and installed it in the glove box, along with an Innovate LC2 and a generic hourmeter.

Ran the wires through the firewall, and added them to the battery clamp:

Found a nice little ground spot in the passenger footwell, just forward of the door:

We're in the middle of an alignment and cornerbalance, and then we'll wire up the dash tomorrow morning. We'll be running the Velox undertray and splitter this weekend, but since we'll be doing ride-alongs on the 3.1 mile course, we won't have any useful lap time information.

We will have the Aim Smartycam running, so if any forum members lose their lunch or scream like little girls, we'll have evidence.

very high quality work as expected !

What is the hour meter thingy for ?

Can you tell us how it is wired in general ? I mean I see 2 red cables, are these the one going to the battery terminal ? and they split into two relay, then relay go into the fuse box ?

I hope you guys are going to make a master cutoff switch, I am still waiting for something professional to be documented around here !

I am just about finished with my car so I'll be getting in the electrical stuff very soon, I'll PM you next week. If Hurricane Erika doesn't wipe me out of the map

What's this ride-along stuff you speak of? I'll be running the 3.1 on Sept 19th weekend. Hopefully my Velox front splitter comes in soon so I'll have time to drop off my car for an alignment and suspension setup by you guys.

The hour meter is just a different way of keeping track of maintenance. For a purpose-built track car, an odometer isn't quite as useful anymore. Like, we've got 450 miles on the car, and we're on our fourth set of brake pads.

The two big red wires are running to the battery. Each one has a 40A fuse, and is switched by one of those two relays. The pink wire is hooked up to an "ACC-ON" line to activate the coils of the relays based on key position. That way we can run the dash and everything else on their own fused circuits without having to tap into the OEM harness.

Let me know if there's anything we can do to help! We'll be redoing all the wiring and such when we do the cage.

We're hosting a DFW meet at our shop on Saturday! Dave will be giving rides in our car on the 3.1 in the morning, then we're doing a mini DE in the afternoon.

Where did you tap into the ACC-ON ? did you go all the way up to the steering column ? or one of the fuse boxes (under hood/driver footwell) ?

I only need one line "always on" for my SPOT GPS transmitter, for everything else I think your setup look great.

Probably going to go off of the radio, we've still got a full interior.

I think the connector d29, called optional connector , which is a loose plug behind the radio offers easy access to switched power

We had a great time with everyone yesterday at the FT86Club.com meet. It's always nice to put faces to the names we see on here. Hopefully we made some racers out of everyone!

Today we went out on the Whiteline bars and PFC Race pads. Our tires are pretty used up, so times didn't improve overall. But by looking at the time comparison, you can see the transient behavior of the car is noticeably improved.

Here's a look at the braking performance. This is the first braking zone on into Rattlesnake, decelerating from about 102 mph down to 55 mph. The traces have been shifted slightly (about 20' or so) to line up the exact moment brakes were applied, but you can see the PFC Race pads (blue trace) require less pedal pressure to get a faster deceleration rate. More importantly, that behavior was maintained throughout the session.

Unfortunately, I didn't get video from this session since I pulled the memory card out too soon. We'll be going out again tomorrow morning, this time with more camber.

Summary
Configuration: RCE Tarmac 2 Coilovers, PFC Race Pads, Whiteline 22mm/16mm ARBs
Best Lap: 1:26.4

Race pads are better, anti-roll bars are stiffer.

interesting , which PFC pads number are you using ? I used to have the PFC01 on my previous car and really liked them for HPDE.

We're running PFC08 front, and PFC13 rear. They recommended that pad combination based off a series in Japan that requires stock rotors. Seems to be a great setup so far.

Did you find that the car was too oversteery with the 22/18mm bars? Feel better now with the 16? (I've 22/18 but not tracked with bars yet, only been out on stock up until now)

Yes, it was a little too tail-happy mid corner. Transitions were great, obviously, but steady-state corners were all over the place. Could be a good setup for autocross or a really tight, technical track, but on our medium-speed track, we need better steady-state.
