Those are pretty big changes

So those of you running a Stage 1 OFT tune (or any for that matter) I've heard a lot say that the Intake growl is much more pronounced.. which WOW it is but wondering if anyone elese almost thing it sounds like a bit of a rattle after about 4500RPMs, it could be other things in the car but it sounds like its comming right from the intake.. IDK

No other weird noises, seems to be running very smooth and really changes the cars character. I know it seems silly, and I know a few HP's on the dyno graph doesnt mean much but its amazing how much the tunes change the cars feel

I feel a bit bad even posting this because I don't own an OpenFlash tablet (I may end up buying one however for its simplicity and logging) but I just want to say great work Shiv , the work your team is doing for this community is fantastic.

Would there be any power differences with these changes? I was under assumption that if you pulled timing from upper end, you're going to be losing some power?

Thanks.

I believe it is added back in through the knock correction table to compensate.

he new map made a bit more power few hp, as the new maf scaling allowed tigher control of the afr i believe its running a bit leaner than previous mapping with better knock resistance , it was running quite rich top end in 1.5, so leaning it out has probably made the power even though he advancecmay be slightly less.

If your prepared to run united 100 octane in OZ then you will likely be able to run close to the 93 usa mapping i believe its only the base timing b table changed between the maps. so just copy that from a 93 map into your G map.

else i have a table/map i have done afew small mods to thats sort of midway between 91/93 topend and a tiny bit pulled 1600-4000. with some temp compensation i get virtually no knock on 100 ron.

Is it just Australian 98ron that isn't as good as USA 93 or are you talking about all the 98Ron in the EU because some tuners here say our 98Ron in Belgium is actually a bit better than the USA 93.

Only talking about 98 ron in Australia i have no knowledge of EU fuels. G rom is used in Australia, Europe, South Africa pretty hard to account for all fuels Shiv is just being safe. If you have good fuel then make up a 93 map and test that.

It's amazing to think what just the Stage 1 on the car given to a reviewer might say..Its not so much faster but it just feels more alive.. The VVT change seems to really help the feeling that the car is not falling on its face with the torque dip.

It's been a long time since I've gotten excited about a tune, but this one has me smiling again. Probably the single best tune since I invested in OFT over a year ago. My BRZ has been revived

Definitely! The car just feels so much smoother to drive without much hesitation in the dip range. This is also my first major mod to the car and it's worth every penny.

Will be doing stage 2 uel tune on Saturday, can't wait.

Question though. One station I fill up at only has 92. What happens if I have the 93 tune and use 92? Is there a significant benefit to the 93 over the 91 tune?

I can either only go to the 93 station, or go with 91 tune and be fine either way if 92 on a 93 tune is a no no

Rule of thumb:
Octane > Tune Specific = usually OK
Octane < Tune Specific = ALWAYS bad!
