It's like buying a smartphone, tablet, or 4k tv -the current model doesn't stay on top for long because bigger and better is right around the corner.

You guys are going to flip when they change the exterior!
The thing is... these are CARS. Much more investment than a smartphone. Much, much more investment. People are willing to settle for whatever is made available to them, but don't make fun of people that complain because they want more (and sometimes rightfully so). Because when it's finally available later, you have one person that's angry for not having that option available to them at the time and for being told they're dumb for wanting that option (pipe dream, basically) and the other person looks dumb for dashing someone's dream once what they wanted finally IS released.

Example:

In 2008 I said I wanted my STI with rear fold down seats and quad tip exhausts. My buddy said I was gay and that Subaru would never do that for the STI. Well guess what happened in 2011? However, did I know that was going to happen three years later? No sir! Now my friend be lookin' like a fool!

Damn, I just leased a Corolla because I couldn't afford the 10 series. Oh well, no point in crying over missed FR-Ses (is there a plural for FR-S?)

Negative. That color is exactly opposite of what I want. If I wanted a 10, I would just go buy a BRZ and choose the color I wanted.

I'm sorry, but what do you have again? The same logo.

This Monogram series is definitely tearing this community apart.

Those sneaky bastards... Welp, too late, I bought a BRZ. Had they offered this from the get-go I'd be rocking a Scion, granted it would have Toyota badging immediately.

Granted it's a more costlier item but it's basically the same in our consumerist/disposable society -something that depreciates quickly and is often replaced long before it's unusable (or it's no longer cost efficient to maintain). We should mark this thread and see how many people still own their FR-S three years from now. My argument is you don't have have to denigrate someone else's purchase (of a 10 or monogram) and I was illustrating a point that this negative mentality will spill onto the new model. Technically we should be a big twin family but being snide and immature shouldn't be tolerated amongst adults. It sucks Toyota is offering but that's a boring car maker trying to wring more sales out of a good seller. To be honest with you, new cars usually sell more in their two years of inception so it's kind of weird that Toyota is rushing this along. A lot of car sites believe this is Toyota positioning themselves to break away from Subaru.

Good luck with the Corolla, consider yourself lucky in the sense:

1. no worries about crickets
2. no worries about haters touching your car (or stupid posts)
3. you have a real back seat
4. people don't want to race you at every light

By the time your lease is up it'll be the 10th or 20th iteration of FR-S.

this is really good news for me.. i was dead-set on a brz limited because of the heated seats/mirrors and push button start.. do i need these things? no, absolutely not, none of my previous cars ever had either feature, but if i'm spending $25k+ of my hard earned money on a brand new car, they are features that i think would be really nice to have.

i like the headlights more on the brz, but from the reviews here, scion/toyota has better customer service, not to mention, toyota has a better-established perception of reliability, so i imagine the resale of the scions is going to be better in the future, so overall i'd really rather have the scion...

i was planning on putting my order in in january/february, i'll have to see how this all shakes out..

I was thisclose to the BRZ because features to price the Limited was a great if it weren't the slimy dealers around here were playing games. Why would you immediately switch the badging to Toyota to look JDM or because Scion brand is undesirable?

Leather seats? The only thing I miss by having a BRZ... dang. Oh well. Alcantara isn't half bad.

• Heated Leather Seats : I wonder if it's actually leather or the same as the BRZ (alcantara/leather inserts)
• Anti-Theft Security System :Not sure if I understand. Didn't the FT86 already come with alarm system?
• Frameless Rear-View Mirror : Nice little bonus
• Center Armrest : Wonder how it'll fit with the cupholders
• Carpeted Cargo Mat : Not sure I get the difference with felt
• Color-Keyed Rear Spoiler : Is it the same spoiler as BRZ?

If it's pretty much the same as a BRZ Limited for about the same price, I would be interested for looks alone. Prefer the Toyota instrument panel/cluster.
