Out of respect I wouldn't drive like hell in my friends car even if they didnt care. I would hope people I've chosen as friends would respect me the same.
There's a difference between driving enthusiastically to really experience the car and being disrespectful/wreckless. The friends that I trust and the ones that trust me know the difference.

my friend let me autox his brz and that's what set my mind to one. I also let my friend autox my FRS with 5k miles while he let me autox his 2012 5.0 mustang. People that tend to have that attitude are either overly protective, or dont trust their friends behind the wheel of their car.

i dont know if its so much a matter of trust. i think the price allows some people to purchase this instead of a twenty year old miata or 240. with all the threads littered with people talking about parking away from everybody despite driving an entry level car, its no surprise that this is a significant tone in this forum.
