You just can't compare the two and say that the BRZ is over priced because it's now more expensive than the WRX.

Like I said on the other thread. It's seems the car mags were pretty much right on with regards to the price of these cars. So it's really not much of a surprise. Now the "real" make it or break it is if the dealerships are going to try to rip people off and price these things above MSRP.

The fact that the BRZ and WRX are closely priced, definitely means there will be a lot of cross shopping. That is natural and nothing wrong with that. If your limits of ~$25k MSRP and you want a "sporty" care there is a fairly short list; Miata, BRZ, WRX, MS3, Mustang V6....etc. Doesn't matter if some are FWD/AWD/RWD, or some are turbo vs. NA. Some of us might have a requirement that it is RWD or NA or so forth, but for the most part people look at price first, and then probably HP/MPGs next and then maybe seating/practicality. Just how it works.

I believe because someone from Subaru made a statement that the BRZ would cost about the same with WRX. Naturally, people remember that comparison and quote it.

Didn't think so BTW the deposit charge went through on my credit card last week. Just thought I'd give you a heads up in case yours hadn't yet.

There are 7 ahead of me. I'm hoping they just take care of all of us first considering I'm 10 miles from their entry port. The rest of you can wait :p

Considering how a lot of Scion dealers will add dealer accessories to cars, I can definitely see many BRZ Premiums go for less than a Scion FRS. Not to mention the Pure Price BS with Scion.

We need a poll thread: At what price are you no longer interested (let's say for the Limited)?

If it's $28k, plus $800 dest, plus $2,500 in taxes & tags - that's almost $32k in my driveway! (I didn't say "out the door"!). Yikes. I have to decide if this "extra" fun car is worth $32k of my hard earned dollars.

With the benefit of even a test drive to compare against, there might be other cars that woo me away - or none at all (I still have two). Maybe wait 2 more years for the next WRX?

Will have patience and see what Subaru comes out with. The excuse we've heard is that they were waiting on Scion to release pricing first. It's done - now step up Subaru!
