Or with all the goods from the Toyota/Subaru versions that Scion has cut out.

I will never be a Scion lover. Even if they handed me a Scion FR-S for free, I wouldn't accept it.

P.S. Yes, I am bitter. Seven years of not having a Toyota sports car for sale. Waiting and begging for one only to have one dangled in my face and then pulled away at the last second. Very bitter. Especially when I finally earned the job that would let me afford a Toyota sports car the same year Toyota cancelled all their sports cars, forcing me to buy used with all the problems from the previous owner. Very bitter indeed.
I respect how you show your fanboistic nature on this forum without caring what anybody thinks. You're not faking it.

Wish I still had my Dealer Daily login.

Well, that solves it. If it's a Dealer Daily bulletin, that source is completely legitimate. I just hope the BRZ won't be too much higher. FR sports car under $25k. Only the MX-5 and Gen Coupe come in that low, so quit whining, everyone!!!

Scion should word their letters to dealers a bit differently (or put 2 spaces between words in specific places). That way they'd know whom to take to Scion jail.

To each, their own. However, Toyota doesn't seem to subscribe to that idea.

If this leaked information stands (which I believe is the case as with the leaked Japanese price information by Nikkan Jidosha Shinbun), the BRZ's price is likely to be right under $26K, which is consistent with a statement made earlier that "BRZ will be about the same price with WRX". What does not make sense is Ed Loh's twittered information of $24K for premium and $27K for limited. I thought he had misinterpreted different trim levels, but there is no good explanation now. I guess he just threw numbers out without considering what it would do to his credibility.

Do you consider the Civic SI a sports car?

The value of the yen is much stronger than it used to be. 3 million yen is over $36,000 (not $30,000 as stated in the article). Currently, $24,200 is actually under 2,025,000 yen, which is what I'd be willing to bet is the currency Tada was speaking about. 4 years ago, that same ~2,025,000 yen would have come out to be under $16,500. Expecting a pair of Japanese countries to eat over 30% of their target budget just because the US dollar is currently weak is a pretty asinine assumption, in my opinion.

All of that said, it is quite a shame that it's not at the price point I was hoping for, but it is within $300 of what I was expecting

I love how you falled for that catch phrase that Toyota made just 2 years ago. I wonder if they will use that same slogan for all their cars?

I didn't expect 20,000 flat either. I was just wanted something around 22,500 or so and around 26,500-27,000 for limited.

Heh, I can prove I'm not a fanboi! I'm allowed to say this as I own one. Don't get me wrong, the WRX is a fun and practical car, not to mention a great value. It's just not a sports car though.

I will admit that this car makes a MX5/Cooper S look overpriced.
