Production numbers.

My local dealership stressed to me in email that the quantities will be "extremely limited" and that they could begin the ordering process, but they weren't sure if they would get a BRZ on the lot.. etc.. total BS. Downtown Nashville Subaru

It will be. Doubt they will have a car set aside strictly for test drives. Unless you already have your name on the order list with a car to your name, I wouldn't count on being able to test drive one for some time. I bet those that have ordered will most likely get the car if pricing is right and they are happy with the test drive.

Exactly. I sure wouldn't want someone test driving the car I ordered until I decided not to buy it.

So when I get to the dealership, should I expect the pre-ordered cars to have only a few miles on them? Few as in lower than 15miles?

Probably more like fewer than 5-10.. It doesn't take much driving to put the car on a transport and pull it off.. I guess it really depends on where they do the car washes at for your dealership.

An update to my page 2 guess on USA production allocation. Assuming all the advertised allocation numbers are Model Year [i.e. from May 2012 to August 2013, as typical new model years begin Sept 1st], that means among the 664 allocations accounted for in the OP over 57 dealers, every dealership averages 11.6 BRZ. If there are 600 Subaru dealerships across the USA, that means a total MY13 allocation of about 7,000 BRZ. This is a bit lower than my earlier guess, but should be more accurate as we get more dealership allocation data.

Hi folks,
Patrick Subaru in Shrewsbury, MA says their allocation for the 2013 model year is 25 vehicles. Of those, 6 are spoken for. The salesman there expects delivery starting in May, and he said that anyone who pre-orders now should be in the car by August. He expects pricing to be in the $21-$24k range, but I suspect he's wrong. Patrick Subaru will be selling no higher than MSRP (though I didn't get that in writing). The dealership is asking for a $500 refundable deposit to pre-order the car.

Then it sounds like I'm not going to them.

I called one of the low volume dealers around here (Reeves Subaru in Tampa, FL). They claim to have no idea what their allocation is but they claim that they will have a car in late April. They also said you couldn't pre-order them yet.

That dealership really focuses on their premium brands (they have Porsche, BMW, Audi, Maserati and Land Rover on the same lot).

The other local dealership (Bert Smith Subaru, St Petersburg, FL) wouldn't share their allocation either but they are "expecting one a month" so I'd guess 7? They are doing straight MSRP though, no markups and he didn't specify how many were on his list.

Not sure why some dealers are not coming out and saying it but maybe it's because I didn't bother to talk to the sales managers.

The dealership I'm using is getting quite a few. I forgot how many (being first on their list makes me not really care lol) but I want to say it was 17 or 18 at their Tampa location and 12 or 13 at the Sanford, FL location. Both dealerships are Mastro Subaru in name. ZGrinch may have posted their allocation numbers before and/or he may remember the numbers.

Total for Mastro two locations (May-Dec); 26 cars.
Tampa is getting 16 and Sanford is getting 10.
Potential initial shipment: Tampa 3 Sanford 2

Just got off the phone with Ferguson Subaru in Broken Arrow Oklahoma. the rep stated that the dealer is considered low-volume, and it was only be getting 7 as a bare minimum, but depending on how fast those 7 sell they could get more before the year's up.

He told me that they could start expecting them in June and (take this with a grain of salt) a base price at or around $24k

He also said that they would be sold at their actual price, no mark-ups due to low availability (so there's some good news)

They had one out there last week, unfortunately I wasn't able to go out to BA to see it, but his description is the same as I've been hearing (so more good news there)

Bryan Subaru of Metairie, LA (Only one in New Orleans) is allocated 3 for the calendar year. Just put myself down for no. 2 slot at MSRP

Baldwin Motors Subaru in Covington, LA (45 minutes away) is allocated 5 and I'm told they are charging $2k over MSRP.

Hello, this is Chris at Wagner Subaru in Dayton, OH.

We have a total of 7 allocations avail, of which 3 are already spoken for as of today, 3/15/12

We ask for a $500 refundable deposit and will sell the car to your spec's at MSRP.

We only have a $150 doc fee and will not attach any other fees or accessories to the car that the customer does not order on it.

I also offer a 15% discount on all accessories, parts and labor.

We're the 12th oldest Subaru dealership in the US out of over 600 dealers and most of us here drive modified Subaru's and are enthusiast friendly.

Please call, PM, or email me with any questions.

We will have a BRZ on hand soon to be seen and driven, but we're still trying to confirm a date.

I'll try to post info as I get it.

Here's an email I got this morning.

We received a Limited manual in DGM at our office. That car is currently in the Columbus Auto Show this weekend. It is roped off, so consumers can’t sit in the car.
The BRZ is not eligible for the $250 auto show coupon.
The Zone is expecting an automatic as well. Arrival is TBD.
The car is on press embargo until 3/26, so no plans to show the car before then.
After 3/26, dealers and customers may test drive the BRZ with an SOA employee in the car. I will provide the insurance paperwork needed once I get it.
I will try and get a schedule together for when I may have the car to show.
Our plan is to host small events, such as dealer car meets and local Cars & Coffee venues.

If you have an event in mind, please email it to me for consideration.

Looking forward to seeing these myself and will hopefully get an STi version at some point!
