As for the mods: It has nothing to do with anything you mentioned. Its an O-ring on a puel pump. Put quality gas in it, you wont have a problem. Besides cars have all been made after the TSB (least if you just got one, mine was made in december nad picked up very shortly after) and it SHOULD come from the factory fixed.
Definite quality gas. We havr none of that in southern cali...lol

Dunno - whatever Toyota stuck in my car before the permanent fix came out.

However, when I found out that Toyota "fixed" the squeak - I decided to try another experiment. I put Tesoro gas in my car, and guaranteed - within an hour, my car was chirping again.

I filled up with Chevron next tank, and the chirping subsided, or became intermittent.

I then filled up with Tesoro this week (I have an appointment to replace my fuel pump with the newest version) and the chirps have come back in full force.

Food for thought.

By any chance do you know what the permanent fix was called?

So does anyone who replaced their pumps recently still have this problem?

I got a 2014 model just a few months ago and the chirps are intermittent, does this o-ring or pump get rid of the crickets?

Update on new fuel pumps - it still chirps on rare occasions, but very quietly, and then it usually goes away after a few seconds. Tesoro/Costco/Aloha gas seems to bring the chirps out more often. Chevron and Shell gas have caused no real problems with chirping.

Chirps are coming back here and there again. Even with the new fuel pumps and washers and Chevron/Shell gas. I might make an appointment again to have them replace the pumps again.

If you look in the forums I believe they said that it's never fully gone, just a little quieter. I see no point not having a car for a couple days when it's not going to fix anything.
