Well, I must admit I did re-badge to Toyota as well, but I did so by buying an 86.

Desperate as in how many people seemed ashamed to be seen in a mere Scion.

I think the only ones ashamed of Scion are Toyota. It's why they got rid of it and forgot about it so fast.

Rebadging is just another form of cosmetic modding. It shouldn't be made out to be a big deal.

Same as replacing the oem wheels to aftermarket or changing any other component of the car. Steering wheels, exhausts, bumpers etc....

Most of us do badge swaps because it's technically a Toyota.
For some, it's because of looks.
For others they just do it for fun.
I highly doubt someone does it because they are ashamed. If they were ashamed they would of not bought a car for $25,000+.

On my Subaru, I replaced the front Subaru Badge with the Pink "I" badge. Was i ashamed of Subaru? No. I just thought it looked cool on the JDM sti's in Japan.

Hmm. I would say those calling a Scion to Toyota rebadge "desperate" are probably a little "insecure". Otherwise, why care?

Because I can? I truly don't care, really, just voicing my opinion. Would you say I'm secure if I badge my 86 as an FR-S?

I am thinking of dropping the 86 badge. Why on Earth did they feel the need to have an "86" in the friggin' headlight?

This is an interesting car. You can't buy it alone. You have to purchase a "real" aston or own one already to then you have the opportunity to purchase the toyota/scion iq based aston.

Minimum $$$$$ in $140,000.

I think it was retailing at circa £30k (UK sterling) when iQ was circa £10k.. I've only seen one on the road.

Correct, but that doesn't include the "real" aston. I just read they only sold a few hundred before it was discontinued. It has nice interior for an overpriced underpowered tiny car.
