Tomei UEL, Milltek OP and Berk fast cat. No tune as the car is still under warranty.

I went as gradual and low end as I could. In Chicagoland, wanted to stay catted just in case.

First, I got an OFT. Stg 1 93 octane tune cut the dip down dramatically on its own. Car revved harder all over the tach too. Almost stopped here, as it was good enough.

Then, I came across a cheap used TopSpeed EL catted header. It's branded a UEL... Technically the runners aren't exactly the same length, but 90% close. They really aren't unequal enough to be one. I'm fine with this, didn't want the UEL rumble, even though UEL is supposed to help more with the dip. The cat is a small 200cfm high flow unit, way less restrictive than Oem. As far as headers go, this one is barely better than the Oem, BUT...

OFT stage 2 93oct + this low end header is great. dip is gone, car pulls cleanly from idle to redline and more power all over. Car isn't fast, but isn't slow anymore. Barely more volume than stock. Total spent is under 750, totally worth it.

Does this set up without remapping cure the Torque Dip? How much better does it feel?

Torque Dip Decisions

The dip is almost a non issue for me. Interesting because we are running relatively similar setups. Hardly even notice it anymore. This is kind of a weird dyno readout though, but you dyno looks similar to mine before I installed my header.

Haha a 5 second 0-60 Camry.

What a crazy world we live in.

You realize there is nothing broken about the car? Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world drive the car stock and are totally satisfied.

Everyone's view on acceptable risk is different, but at the end of the day if this is going to be a daily driver then wait for the MY17 cars and just buy the latest most up to date iteration and enjoy it as is. It has quite a few updates over the past releases and will likely keep you happy for the handful of years its covered by warranty.
I agree with This post and quoted it, I'll my my 20c.....

The new car will be tested soon enough, see how it pans out and make your choice. Don't over think it before you drive it. I searched these forums and you know what, when I drove the car there were many things I didn't agree with both in positives and negatives. What does that tell you?

Tomei UEL + ECUTek dyno tune. (not a fan of OFT)

Torque dip? What Torque dip...? Header + tune inverted the torque dip and made it my peak torque point. It truly is a wonder why Subaru insists on putting an EL header on this car...

Yep, UEL + full exhaust (high flow cat in FP). No real intake; just a drop-in apexi air filter. I'm no longer on OFT; I went flex fuel with ecutek through moto-east.

Torque dip fix put me 2 secs faster on a 1.50 course. A lot of the locals have issues with the gear spacing between second and third. Some corners you enter third and end up either at 5000rpm exiting or basically half a second on second gear.

Maybe drive a camry? Torque dip bothers you? how about rev it higher & stop racing between traffic lights?

To be honest the first thing i feel after getting the car tuned is ....boring.
I need to get the car tune again for more topend...

alright, sick. thats my goal as of right now. I just want to eliminate the torque dip as much as I can. I've got a theory, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I was thinking of getting a second set of stock headers and front pipe and gut both of the cats so I can keep my original headers and front pipe for smoging. I know the gutted cats don't have the best flow but with the OFT that I'm going to be getting, I am going to run the OFT with stock catted headers of stage 1 and then get the other set and run stage 2 with the gutted stock headers and front pipe. what do you think about this?

Sounds like a huge waste of time.
