Route the stock belt around the back side of the seat and click it in so it's out of the way.

After safety mods (which may include brakes and rubber), this is the most important mod you can make. When the wheel/pedals/shifter/chair combo is optimized for him or her, the driver has more attention to devote to everything else. And the faster you go, the more attention everything else demands - that's not optional. It's hard to really get until you've got it set up right, and then it's like..."Wow, so this is what they were trying to tell me!"

And how much does a HANS device cost?

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

Only if it doesn't interfere with the harness routing behind the seat.

38 hot is a good guide; adjust to taste and by temp
Awesome, that helps a TON. First track event of my season at Gingerman Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully I'll have everything set up by then.

Or drill holes into your current one (and make sure the mounting points are properly braced/reinforced.

Not a good idea, assuming it's allowed in the first place. Be sure to check ahead of time.

I disagree, especially for inexperienced drivers. The primacys make it MUCH easier for a novice to feel out the handling of the car at lower speeds. They're predictable, and howl to let you know when you're pushing too hard for their liking. Going straight to sticky tires will make it much harder to teach someone how to balance the car with their inputs.

Most places are fine with it as long as the tire is patched properly from the inside and not just a plug inserted from the outside. I picked up a screw in one of my tires and the local sanctioning bodies have zero issues as long as the hole was in a safe place, and it was fixed right.

Patched? ok! Plugged.... skeptical.

This lap is actually on a patched tire... picked up a nail on the way to the track.

@ATL BRZ how much was the set up, if you don't mind me asking?
Every helmet with HANS anchors either out of the box or later is "drilled" to fit the anchors. As long as the measurements are correct and the anchors are legit with the proper reinforcements, you can trust it. I had a professional drill and install anchors for $55. Worth it to me to keep using my SA2005 for a while longer.

Price breakdown:

Agency Power bolt-in harness bar: $600

Schroth Profi II ASM FE 4-point harnesses (black/pull down with clip-in lap belt ends and 01324 hardware kit): $354

My HANS sport II is a hand-me-down from my dad since he sold his race car but they are $585 new

G Force Pro Eliminator helmet: $250

Those prices are all before tax/shipping and discounts. I highly recommend Discovery Parts for all the gear besides the harness bar.

Agreed. Discovery Parts are a great vendor. I got the anchors done on my helmet by them at my first Lemons race. Highly recommended.
