True, but if the Monogram options were to be continued with the 2015 models and beyond, then someone could wait until there is a prior year Monogram sitting on a lot and get it for a better price, just as the "new" 2013 models can sometimes be haggled for if a dealer has some 2014 models on the lot.

But that's a whole lot of waiting around... I'd rather just go ahead and get my car and start enjoying it! I am STILL waiting on delivery... apparently they had to ship it from Japan in a row boat and then transport it across the country by bicycle.

The fact that it's an "exclusive" release makes it harder to negotiate the price. I guess that was my point. Dealers were less willing to give an edge on the Monogram FRS, as opposed to when I went shopping for a BRZ, for example.
There's no "negotiating" on any of the scion cars.

Yes, but that could happen regardless of trim level or special edition. Cars in this price range that are a year older get discounted no matter what. Look at the 10 series. It's never coming out again. But it's getting discounted.

Let me put it this way. Do you think the price for the monogram as a trim level next year will be noticeably lower than the price this year? (assuming the base trim goes for the same price next year) Of course not.

Really? Then how come I did?
Their "pure pricing" (Which is what I'm guessing you're referring to) doesn't mean no negotiating. From what I understand, it means that the dealer sets a sticker price, and they aren't allowed to sell for more

Pure price means no negotiations on new vehicle price. Violation of this could lose the dealer the right to sell Scions.

You negotiate on the trade-in, they just make it sound like you're bargaining on the new car.

Sent from my PO-T4T0 with Eyes.

I don't know what to tell you. 4 different dealerships, 4 different negotiations.
Let's not beat a dead horse though Maybe it's different in Canada?

It just depends on the adherence of your dealership. It is supposed to mean no haggling, but some dealerships want the sale more, so they will provide some wiggle room.

Yes, it is different in Canada. Notice on scion.ca there is absolutely no mention of pure pricing.

Does anyone remember the thread where people listed items to check before taking delivery of the car? I have been searching but couldn't find the right words to find that thread. I wanted to look through it again before I head to the dealer.

EDIT: I found it! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61401

If you get the car in a dark color and forgo the wash, you could easily miss dings/scratches on the car especially if the car is dirty.

I would just ask them to spray down the car with water, no wash and no dry.

Any color paint is going to get scratches from the dealer's crappy wash/detail services.

The only safe option is to not have them do anything to it when it comes off the truck. Have your detailer remove the protective film.
