Gonna go out on some back roads today and give it a proper thrashing.

Thanks for the great part at a great price!
time for some sweatpants brother!

Well, there is a fine layer of black dust that came from me not having solvents to remove the excess. Instead I simply sanded the top before it was completely dry. The black dust actually made it match the textured black better.

Nope. I just painted over it. I wanted to keep the texture.

i want to install this correctly, how did you guys get 12ft lbs for a torque wrench and which drive do i get? 3/8 or 1/2? the craftsman only comes in 25-250?

i dont have a torque wrench that has the weight adjustment, which brand is good for working on future projects as well?

To do this right you need a torque wrench that will read in inch-pounds, 12 foot-pounds = 144 foot-inches. This will be a 1/4" drive wrench. My local car part stores didn't have that, but I was able to get one at Harbor Freight for about $20 or something. You could buy one online.

Don't over tighten or you'll be very very screwed.

just did mine yesterday, didn't feel like going through drawer for the light torque wrench,

those nuts came off real easy, clearly they weren't going back on ape strength hard.
