I am interested in the high rigidity of the supra; comparable to the LFA. Did you notice how wide the door sills were? Do you think the rigidity played a large role in the handling? |

As for chassis rigidity, it def play role in the handling. I gonna make thing clear, chassis isn't "stiff", they're "firm". Because chassis rigidity, suspension and tires working and functioning the way it was suppose to work. That makes the car response honest without unexpected understeer/oversteer. |

The car is growing on me, I like what BMW does when they get serious, I'm not a fan of soft tops so Supra > Z4, the wife doesn't want to learn MT and I really want to get her out to a few driving events/schools before we get older and boring-er.
But with the Cayman and M2 in the price bracket with great DCT's and the uncertain timeframe in which I'd be able to earn enough money to justify the costs who the fuck knows if this will ever be the right solution for me. Modding this thing will be a riot, 400whp, sticky tires, short wheelbase, moderate weight. |

Probably closer to 5lbs, BMW uses a really dense foam to quiet down the direct injection.
Exhaust probably weighs a fuckton too, the one on the F56 Mini is like 40 lbs and can be replaced with a straight pipe because the turbo+cats do a lot of muffling. I'd expect at least -25 lbs there, and there were actual power gains because BMW decided to choke the engine with a catback so they could sell an overpriced JCW exhaust that's actually worth a good ~5hp in stock trim and more when you turn up the boost. Swap the 19's for 18's for a good 20 lbs of unsprung weight, just like the 86 I bet there's an easy 100lbs to shave off without much sacrifice. But I realized a few years ago I've got a pretty low threshold for trading weight for NVH so I wouldn't mess around with stripping a shiny lightly used Supra. |

Gonna be a lot of depreciation with these cars, especially ones missing interior parts, engine covers, sound deadening goop etc. Oh and lets not forget those engine grenading beta tunes.

I feel the same. I don't mind messing with the FR-S but doubt I would screw with a Supra. I don't mind some NVH though. |

I'm excited. This is gonna be an awesome car for road tripping, and hopefully lots of fun on the street. And it looks like it's got lots of potential

I'm curious about owners impressions after a year or so, after the hype and marketing has worn off.
