Got the Alienware 13 R3. Played Witcher 3, Lego LOTR, Shadowrun, and Minecraft. This guy has plenty of power. Of all of the, Shadowrun is the most fun. Witcher is a bunch of running around and getting on and off horses. Lego games are just idiotic. Minecraft is only appealing to those under age 12. I may need to install Fallout 4 and then beat it for the third time, but as an evil melee girl.

LOL I am on my second round of FO4 and coincidently enough I went the evil, melee girl route. That is just because it is the total opposite of good, energy weapons guy that I did the first time.

I was a sniper my first time through. Explosive shotgun and very little VATS the second time through. Definitely going melee and VATS for #3. I have trouble playing evil, though. I feel guilty.

I think my favorite part of the game so far has been standing on the deck of the USS Constitution then riding it into the crash.

I hardly ever use vats I use it more to find enemies that I can hear but can't see. I am still on my first play through going through the dlc currently Nuka World. I am a mix of sniper and pistols. Same way I played Borderlands.

I find the game too difficult without some VATS. You can unload an SMG into somebody's face and not kill them, but in VATS, you do ten times the damage in a single shot. The explosive shotgun is one of the few guns that actually does kick the crap out of enemies. I'd like an explosive minigun even more, but I never found one. Or the harming one, which makes them bleed.

I'd like to know your impression of it after a few days/weeks.

I've been on the fence for months on buying a laptop...

Interesting because I almost never use VATS. During my first play through of FO4 I used it on less than a handful of enemies. Mostly I just forget it's there, not really an intended thing on my part.

I'm sure play style has a lot to do with it. I usually got stealth with snipers and pistols. I get close for regular enemies and stay my distance for stronger enemies and snipe.

30 years of keyboard/mouse experience doesn't hurt plus as my tagline in Steam says "Patience over Skill".

I do tend to play the Sniper, keeping my distance. Also, my forum name here is the same as my gamer tag. It was given to me by my kids. The DAD portion has a double meaning. Besides the obvious, it stands for "Death After Death" as in I regenerate a lot.
