While I appreciate their apparent attention to detail are they worth $550?
I'm sure Perrin could get that much money for it, and people would be lining up to get it. *facepalm*

I would never buy that, especally with some of the other offernings going for a quarter of a price. I could make most of that at home with a hacksaw, a couple files, and a tap & die set, in under an hour. And yes, I can file to the tolerances they spoke of. The 'hard' part would be the tapered spindles. Including the time to shape a HSS bit and considering I haven't touched a lathe in 8 years, I could probably bang off two of them in a couple hours.

It's nice to see that they spent the time to model everything, but seriously, it's just a stock replacement as far as geometry goes. If they're going to spend that much time on R&D they should have come up with a way to correct for lowering.

I'm relatively happy with the stock headunit in the FR-S but would it have seriously been that big a deal to make the display scroll when the song name is more than 12 characters? What is that, 15 minutes of some programmer's time?

...well not to mention that I wanted to program "Olivia's" start up message to say either:

"I Honestly Love You"
or
"Let's Get Physical"

but all that will fit is Xanadu and who wants that?

A couple things bug me. First was reading their comments on the first control arms you asked for a critique on, especially when compared to ZDan. Comparing what the two said, ZDan is clearly a professional engineer, and they are either new and inexperienced or not. Reinforced by the '6061 is difficult to machine' statement.

Second is their materials choices and secrecy. The 'trust us it's better but we won't tell you what it is' irks me. China doesn't copy expensive materials because of cost, and potential competition can sort out what it is from what they've inferred. 6013 aluminium from Alcoa is superior to 6061 and 440C stainless is stronger than 4130 in tension.

So when you get some filing time, there you go. (Although I would want to have an engineer look at the stress direction on the stainless piece, since stainless is weak in shear.)

Personally I would chrome-moly all the things for a street car because of the higher fatigue limit, properly heat-treated for any weldments.

There's no reason not to get correcting arms...we're all lowering our cars ~1" at the least. Just wait til someone comes to market, I guess.

I'd rather pay more for low mileage. Plenty of older gentlemen not really driving their Corvettes.

This one is $1,700 over, with the kbb printed you can haggle the price down I'm sure.
