I think i read somewhere the car had to be priced as such that they would only break even on it.....

Well...if they wont pay 25k for a BRZ what makes an STI cost 30k?

They should just get a Veloster or something for 21k, it has 275hp doesnt it? Or a stang V6 305hp!

Seriously though. I am glad it's a coupe. Let Acura bring back the next generation Integra as a hatch with frameless windows like the early intergras.
Hatches don't necessarily have to look like a small minivan ya know. My RSX and a Celica looks nothing like a hatch.

I think you missed the area I mention about being light for there sizes. If you was expecting a car the size of a GC in 2010+ to be 2800 lbs you must be crazy. A 128i weighs 3270 lbs but looks much lighter than a GC from the outside.

Also it's not 2,740 lbs. Subaru the company has stated 2,765 lbs with a full tank of gas(curb weight). What you saw was a car with 3/4 of gas in it.

+1. Especially compared to the Mustang and Camaro, the GC is lighter. The BRZ/FRS is much lighther due to that fact it was designed that way from the beginning and it is smaller of a car. Just look at the overlays to see size differences.

Inside line has actually track tested and weighed the car as tested, and it came out to 2,734 lbs (http://www.insideline.com/subaru/brz...and-video.html)

The FRS will be even lighter.

But it also doesnt have Automatic HVAC, push button start (ok wel the RS7 does) or HID's (might be an option?)
And 180hp? WAYYY TOO LOWW!!!!

Add to the fact its FWD and no dice.

<goes back to driving FWD, 180hp econbox with manual HVAC and no push button start or HIDs)

Well the current styling trend for hatchbacks nowadays is the mini-minivan, 'trunk-lopped-off-and-a-rounded-stub-in-its-place' or 'looks-like-a-station-wagon-but-dont-call-it-a-station-wagon' look.

Aside from the Scion tC we dont have the coupe-like hatchbacks of yore anymore

^They're common enough in Europe, with the RS Megane and Scirroco R immediately coming to mind,

Coupe is fine for me and that the back seats lay completely flat when pushed down is great! :-)

You still missing my point though. Do we know if it was a full tank of gas or what? I trust the manufacturer.

Right, sorry I was expecting some grand official price reveal not just a price on the website... I don't keep up with Scion.com. We don't have Scion in Australia... I just want to hassle my dealer here in Oz.

Why not just get a Mustang GT then, if you throwing weight out the door?

I know, right? 3-series is the closest I've been able to find and they're annoyingly expensive in all the ways a car can be.
