If you've ever cooked with corn oil, I've been told it smells like that.

Are flex fuel kits really that easy? I thought it was along the difficulty of a new fuel system.

No, in my opinion its somewhat simpler its little device that analyzes the ethanol content and some lines coming from there connected inline with the main fuel line in your engine bay, something like that. Then you connect the digital display inside the car, like any other gauge, some wires and soldering.

So easy! Disconnect a couple lines, plug it in, and just connect the wiring to the ecu. Other than that u just need a reflash

That doesn't sound near as bad as I originally thought.

Are there any good mounting spots for the ethanol gauge?

You mean reflash the ecu with an e85 tune?

It could get confusing, some use the evap solenoid to receive the ethanol content and send signal to the ECU and some tap into the ECU directly to tell it how much ethanol it has and to adjust accordingly(aside the e85 flexfuel flash of course). Check out moto-east website's, he has some explanations and you could see the different options. Its just to give you options because some people use the evap solenoid for a boost controller so can't use that method and could only tap into the ecu itself.. I'm not 100% sure of all this stuff as I haven't done it but I've read about it. Please anyone correct me if im wrong.

The ecu tap one with the harness is so easy and I mounted the display between the gauge cluster and the radio. And yes a reflash for having the flex fuel kit

They offer kits now that use the o2 sensor and is plug and play so you don't have to splice into the ECU harness... either will work but its a bit of a PITA to get to the ecu and you have to cut a wire in the process. If they offered the o2 sensor hookup when I bought mine I definitely would have opted for that. Moto-Mikes and Delicious are all completely plug and play, even all the fuel lines as well, using the fuel line connectors and not worm drive clamps.

I'll have to check those out.

My phone doesn't like photo bucket, so I'll take a look when I get to my computer.

Thanks though!
