OEM armrest?

Anything w/ a subaru part number (or trd) would be considered stock to some

Yeah this car is next to impossible to keep stock.

I looked at the two tone wheels and thought, those will have to go. Noticed my arm was either stuck between the seat and the e-brake or ontop of the cup holders, so it needed the armrest. Cheap Scion badges, or classy Toyota badges – that was easy.

Almost any car outside of BMWs, Porsche's, Audi's and VW's need to lose the wheel gap before I'll consider it something worth looking at. Stance is sexy, simple as that.

Wheels and tires are all that mine has other than the TRD stuff I ordered on it. I'm pretty happy with it stock.

I'm fine with my car stock. I just enhanced it a bit.

I have a strict pecking order to my fleet:

One DD "Toaster" for going to work. Stays stock and gets fixed by mechanic. Amortized to scrap value over ten years and receives no love. Currently the FRS.

One "Toy" driver that is on the road for weekends and car shows. Currently a 1967 MGB GT.

One "Toy Project" car in the shop that takes care of fabrication itch. Currently a 1973 Volvo P1800 with Miata chassis and Ford 302.

I have been in the car hobby long enough to tell you that after about year 15, the untouched solid survivors become the most desired and valuable. Just look into Honda CRX or Datsun 240Z or 1990 Mustangs for examples of cars that are now cool and sought after as time-capsules. As far as true collector value, subtract 40-45 years from the current year, and that will give you the era of the cars that will be sought out by people looking to relive their youth.

True that. I'm keeping mine as a time capsule

It's certainly not just you. My car is very-nearly stock, and I intend to keep it that way. It's a lot of trouble just to coax ~10hp more out of the engine, and suspension mods aren't really worth it without significant track use. Not only that, but the twins are considered to be a beginner's track car, so if the driver is a beginner, there is NO point in putting $5k worth of suspension on it.

The car is cheap and quite pretty so it does attract the show car crowd as well. That of course brings a bunch of the constant-modification attitude, which is of no interest to me, though I certainly don't see the harm in it.

I myself enjoy driving the car, and so have decided not to store it for the winter, nor spend time/money on modding it. The less I put into those things, the more I can put into seat time. A set of aftermarket lights is the same cost as 3 lapping evenings at Calabogie. I know which thing I'd rather have.

Agreed. Although I will admit as someone else previously has pointed out, I have no idea why the car came with projectors but no HIDs....

Man, hadn't been on the forums since september. Honestly when I bought it I had all these ideas for modding, rebadging, etc, but after living with it and realizing that if I decide to get rid of it later, there's no real return on the investment of mods. Sure you can pretend it adds value, but no one is going to pay a ton more because you added an exhaust, tail lights and a spoiler.

So, i'm keeping mine stock til I trade it in or hold out and sell it once its paid off. I wouldn't mind keeping it forever and adding a supercharger, but my view on vehicles has changed after owning this car and living with it. Next vehicle I get is gonna be a truck or suv due to practicality. I'm a drummer whose started gigging lately and the fr-s is about the same size as a drum kit. I'm also not a fan of long trips in it, and want something roomier. Wouldn't mind a low mileage bronco or 2012 trail teams fj cruiser.

The only mods I would do are the exhaust tips (they currently look tiny), the knee & speaker pads with the red stitching (makes the interior look complete -like the trunk liner carpeting).

But that's a lot to spend for just looks........
