Another Cincy Area Owner

Hello all. Just found this thread. I'm an Aurora Indiana resident, just outside of Cincinnati. Bought a silver FR-S 6-speed on December 27th. Traded in my 09 Cobalt SS Turbo. Fell in love with the FR-S the first time I laid eyes on them. Actually it was a black BRZ. Since I'm an old geezer, I had convinced myself to buy an old man's car that would carry me into retirement in a couple years. When I went out looking at new (old man) cars, I just could not get myself away from driving sporty cars. Two months and 4K miles later, I don't regrete it one bit. Great drivers car. Also have an 86 Fiero GT in the garage that I've been driving for 10 years. Thinking about selling it now, since I'm not driving it much any more. The FR-S is much more fun to drive. If you have a get-to-gether in April, post when & where. I look foward to meeting other happy owners.

Billy, congrats. Are you going to the Fiero 30th Anniversary gathering in Indy at the end of June? May be one last hurrah for that car! I have an 88 GT I've had for a couple years. My childhood dream car!

looks like great minds think alike! My wife started driving the fiero that her parents own (someday in the near future, they will sell it and it will be mine haha) that had 200 miles on it back in 2005. Still one of my favorite cars. Theirs is a notch (I had a notch I was playing with a couple years ago also).

I think there's going to be a huge subaru meet in june/july sometime that I plan on heading to, if anyone is interested.

BTw,

I've seen another FR-S (asphault) the past few mondays at our local skyline chili (we go every monday). The license plate is from indiana, but they frequent the one on colerain ave. by the olf northgate ford building.

Is that anyone on here?

I purchased my FR-S from Joseph on Colerain, but I don't normally frequent the area and mine is silver. I stopped at the dealer on Friday to ask a couple questions of the service department and I returned the XM radio kit I bought at Best Buy on Colerain Saturday. I'm not real happy with the saleman I had at Joseph. I saved his card so I can make sure I don't ever deal with him again. I ask 2 things of him the day I bought the car. Can a spoiler be added to the rear deck, and can XM radio be added. I never heard from him again. I guess he realy wants my return business, right! If Sion comes out with a Turbo model, I'll probably go to Kings. Everyone seems to be happy with their service at Kings. I had to do the research myself for the spoiler & radio. "carid.com" has a great selection of aftermarket parts and the spoiler was a little more than half what Subaru wanted for an OEM spoiler. Mounted it myself. XM radio was a whole other story. Toyota makes sure you can't use an inexpensive aftermarket unit. The best I could do using the SAT ready OEM radio was about $270 for the parts alone. I only want the SAT radio for 2 1/2 more years until I can retire, so thats too much money.

Go to performance Toyota. That's where I bought mine from, and they have been fairly mod friendly also. PM me if you want the name of my rep.

The only complaint I've had is that they can be slow to get parts in sometimes (I had to wait for them to get my fuel pump) but they are very friendly and have great hours.

I wouldn't ever take my car to any joseph dealer. I worked for them sometime back, and while Richard Joseph is a nice guy, I have seen the way they treat people and would rather not ever deal with a dealer that uses some of the shady tactics they use

Hey y'all!

Bumping the Cincy thread for a new guy. My name's Dave, just bought a whiteout FR-S a couple weeks ago. I autocross nationally with the SCCA and would love to see some of you guys bringing your cars out to our events here in town!

Also have a Mini Cooper (that's been the autocross whip for 3 years now), a '73 CB500 cafe racer, and a '91 Sentra SE-R Lemons car.

Hope to make it down to cars & coffee soon. Maybe this Saturday since the weather will be warm. Will probably be on the bike if I go. You can always swing into Full Throttle and say hi.

Watch out for this guy!
I wish I could come Saturday, Dave, but I'll be in Lexington this weekend.
We will get together one night next week!

I'm actually doing Putnam on Friday, our Test & Tune on Saturday (aka car swapapolooza, tons of fun) and PE1 on Sunday. Driving my FR-S at Putnam, driving a prepared FR-S at the T&T getting it ready for national competition, then racing the Mini (ugh...) on Sunday. I'm going to bug the shit out of you until you come to an autocross, haha.

I'll get with you ASAP. Next week will be rough because of the racing weekend but I'll try.

I've been up to FT a few times (4 or 5 I believe)

I'm going to try and make it out to some autoX events this year, but it depends on if I'm working every sunday still at that time

Awesome. Hit me up if you make it out!

PS, parked next to a raven FR-S at Meijer in WC last night. Had dark wheels. Anyone on here? Looked really good.
