Glad to hear it worked out niceguy!

I hope that all people still searching in Socal for their FRS know that there are currently over 300 FRS in a very small region of Socal, and that you should not be paying any markup whatsoever at this point.

If a dealer says you can't get a better deal elsewhere, laugh in their face and tell them you're going to Longo, Keyes, or Crown...they have lots full of FR-S at msrp...

Happy Ending...congrats on your new baby. That recept was a hell of a shocker (the purchase order is more itemized. You could of posted that.)

I took advantage if the "First Buyer's Program" and qualified for Tier 1 Toyota financing with minimum (I mean -minimum-, $500 deposit) Granted my payments are a little high, but I can re-finance later if need be. Also went for the extended warrenties and negotiated
incentives (my insurance is hella strict on what qualifies as a claim.)

Normally extended/upgraded warrenties are a questionable idea, but parts for this car are still scarce and might be for a while. Not everyone who owns this car will modify it asap.

Why?

`` they are trying to screw you.

In Costa Mesa there is 3k mark up but there are three others in Orange county that do not have the mark up last time I checked.

However that was 3 months ago.

Have you tried contacting Scion directly??? They have a promotion "no-hassle" or something of the sort where you pay MRSP no matter what. No haggling can be done by the dealerships and what not. Dont quote me, but i am pretty sure that its a breach of contract by the dealership(hopefully it was a Toyota dealership that you bought it from) to break that promise from scion.

If i were you i'd call Scion directly and sort the mess out. Although i have no idea what they can do for you seeing as you agreed to pay the 30k. I paid MRPS and grand total was about 27k total after it was all said and done. Then i proceeded to drop that 10k i got for my jetta trade-in.

Goodluck! hopefully u get your money back. I've been scammed before, it was a lesson learned, hopefully this teaches you the same thing i learned. DONT MESS AROUND WHEN IT COMES TO THIS CAAAAAAAAAASH.

The OP was successful in negotiating the price down to MSRP.

There's a lot of misinformation about the Scion pure pricing policy. The policy does not mean that all cars must be sold at MSRP. What the policy does it ensures that whatever price the dealership sets is fully disclosed on all advertising materials it uses. Thus, a dealer CAN charge a markup as long as its fully listed on the dealer website, on the car sticker, newspaper, etc.

Glad it worked out for you. My local dealership has that same $3k markup so I drove to one 2.5 hours away for a great price.
