I'm in cincy and we have E85 but in the winter it's E70 because of the cold start issues.

Am hoping today is my day to take some good logs so I can get my E85 tune. Half days FTW.
Thanks for the tip on the fuel gauge. |

Left the battery unplugged at lunch. Ticker went back up but quickly started going down again. I'm going to say this method doesn't work any other suggestions

I'm just going to put this here...this was during this Fall's gas price spike.
Sunol Super Stop in Sunol, CA. E-85 (well, 70) is now 3.19 ![]() One thing I can't figure out is, why is 100 "supreme" but 98 is "extra supreme?" Hmmm.. 94 is my usual choice for pump gas, 96+ makes no tangible difference. Haven't run E-85 yet. |

I would think racing would be 100, supreme 94, extra 96, and ultra 98 that's how it makes sense to me anyways.

I had an VW R32 before my BRZ that had a e85 flash. The ecu would autodetect which gas I was using (e85 or premium) and adjust accordingly. I'm surprised this isn't the norm now. Is it a difference between the VW's ecu and Subaru's ecu making it not possible or have tuners just not made this happen yet?
The R32 did have issues starting in temps under 50f but just required a second try of turning key off then on to try again. I averaged about 4-5mpg less on e85 but also gained about 45hp-ish (240hp 91oct to 285hp e85). This translated into spending a few bucks more at each fillup. e85 should give well tuned stock cars between 15-25% hp boost over 91-93 octane, which means the BRZ should get about 20hp or so just on a flash and using different gas. I had to replace the fuel injectors with larger ones. I haven't read anywhere on here if the BRZ/FR-S needs larger ones. I would think it should since it needs to push more e85 in the engine than 91-93 octane to work properly. I also had launch control added and autoblip added. Launch control is really only for drag racing so don't bother unless you do it and autoblip you should only really get if you're lazy in teaching yourself how to blip with your foot. After having it I prefer using my foot instead, especially since it's my daily driver. I will only get e85 tune for my BRZ if it's an autodetect fuel map like my VW R32 was and if I do need to replace the injectors that they are easy to do myself without needing to rip the car apart to get to them (not sure where they are as I haven't looked it up). Should be possible to get the BRZ/FR-S up to about 240hp if use e85, sport cat headers, sport cat down pipe, and exhaust.
